Default 5,000 Mile Conventional Oil Change vs. 10,000 Synthetic Oil Change?

Per the owner's manual the RC F requires oil changes every 5,000 miles with conventional oil.

Is anyone considering running synthetic oil and stretching it to 10,000 miles?

If so, does anyone know of any specific risks/concerns with running synthetic and changing the oil every 10,000 miles with this engine? (IS F owners - same engine?)

Will the synthetic/10,000 mile interval void the warranty?

Thanks.

theres nothing wrong with swapping between oil types. Rest of lexus lineup is doing 10k oil changes. If you are unsure, take a sample on used oil and send it to blackstone labs at 5k miles with a TBN test to find out an accurate oil interval.

Absolutely no worries at all about 12k mile oil changes with Mobil 1 5w-30 including multiple track weekends.

Check with Dealer. I don't think the manual covers this question.
Just because you use synthetic does not necessarily mean you can extend oil change intervals.
Not to hijack this thread, but has anyone here changed their oil themselves? Other threads on this board have DIY instructions by someone who has changed their own oil and taken the time to help out.the rest of us DIY'ers.

If the car calls for conventional oil and you run synthetic and have motor problems does anyone see that being a issue?

plenty of people on ISF forum have 10k+ intervals with synthetic proven with a blackstone oil TBN analysis

So they can quote chapter and verse from the maintenance guide. They can't legally tell you anything else. I have run 12k OCI on my IS F since I bought it brand new and it has well over 100k miles on it now. Blackstone has confirmed repeatedly the oil is performing well and recommends trying 14k mile OCIs.

Damn I need to read my friggin manual (I will just have not gotten to it yet) as I thought the interval was 10K like the rest of the Lexus line...and WTF going conventional oil? I also ran Mobil One 5W - 30 in MYISF...I was thinking that was a no brainer for my RCF???
