Excellent review CYKBC. Looking at getting the apexi exhaust catback. Can't decide bewteen the non-resonated and resonated. I was leaning towards no-res. However, the fact that you mention drone even for the resonated version is making me have second thoughts. I'm thinking then non-res version would then have serious drone. The resonated version on the other hand would be too quiet. I could probably live with some drone below 2000 rpm with the non-res version. However, beyond that there should be no drone.
Curious, when in Sport + mode, I'm familair with that amount of noise (ASC). Is the resonated version louder or quieter than that, assuming the car is in Sport mode only (no ASC)?

I believe ASC activates both in Sport and Sport+ mode. In Normal, there's no ASC. The Apex'i unit I have does sound better in Sports modes. It sounds like an awesome smooth V8 when revving it out!

In whichever mode you can think of, Apexi is louder than the stock setup *period*.

Here's another photo I took in case it helps others make a decision. Truly the cleanest, most OEM+ looking exhaust out there today, imho.

Sound clips of the GSF and RCF are pretty much 99% the same.

Depends how sensitive you are to drone. The GSF axle back drones a bit more than the RCF axle.

inwas thinking of getting the axleback for the RCF, I’m more on the conservative side and wanted tamw sound,...but even with the axle back and stock cat, there is still drone?

unfortunately as much as it sounds nice it drones no matter what i have tried different combinations, I think the reason for that is design related adding to the fact the there is very high flow from the engine on the RCF and the stock is HIGHLY restrictive thats why it doesn't drone

I have the resonated Apexi with the Toms Axel back, with the toms axle back combo, the car is equivalent to stock, but when you get on it on man shift you can hear the v8 growl, with no drone Not as crazy as all the other loud exhaust out there

The full APEXi four can exhaust has been repeatedly reviewed as loud and droney... pair the APEXi resonated midpipe($855) only with a decent axle back like Toms($$$2300) or Tanabe(reasonable$770ish) and you get something that doesn't drone at all but sounds great when you mash the gas.
