Default Cold Air Intake Options

I searched around through the RC F forum, can't find much in the way of CAI options for the 5.0 L. Looking around in general I can see that there are a few options for the IS F, but do those work in our cars? What other options are available, if any? Anything in development?

You know how it is, money burning holes in my pockets and all...

Give it a few months and we should have a quality intake system from aFe available for you

Cool - I realize the car is pretty new so takes time to develop and engineer. Possibly the stock intake is pretty good, although it looks restrictive compared to what you see for other V-8s.

AEM / K&N will also be coming out with one soon.

There was quite a bit of talk on the ISF side that the stock airbox was really the best option overall, as far as intakes went. I remember there were people showing a loss of power with many of the CAI options installed. I think installing a full intake also resulted in losing the secondary intake growl, replaced by that traditional CAI induction noise.

I had the Joe Z intake pipe on my ISF. I don't think it really made any power, but I liked the visual of it compared to the plastic factory piece. I'll probably pick up one for the RC F down the line.

Obviously we will have to wait and see if there are any performance gains to be had in the RC F iterations, but I would guess it will be similar to that of the ISF.

I'm going to guess that one problem that will come up with an aftermarket CAI is that there is no way to tweak the ECU map to optimize the higher intake flow, i.e. no ability for a custom tune.
