3 Month Review on the RCF Swift Spec-R Springs
3 Month Review on the RCF Swift Spec-R Springs:
Coming from driving Lamborghinis, GTRs , Lotus, ISFs, etc.. The RCF’s ride height was not cutting it for me..
So, I asked my buddies at Mod in Japan how to fix this solution and they offered me the Swift Springs.
Upon opening the box, I noticed the quality of the springs and the nice red finish.
I got these bad boys installed ASAP at Swift Springs and noticed the drop as soon as the car got off the lift.
The drop is perfect! No rubbing, very aggressive, and it helped improved handling.
I know I went the right direction with the Swift springs over companies like RSR and
Tanabe because this is an expensive car and I want quality products for my car.
This whole review is after driving over 10,000 miles on my car within 3 months.
Here’s how she looks after the drop
Ride Quality
The ride quality is what you would want it to be. Just like a Sports car Lexus.
Very aggressive when you want it to be taking corners, but very smooth while cruising.
Performance / handling
Swifts main goals are maintain the comfortable ride, increase handling by reducing body roll, and lower the vehicle within appropriate limits.
Swift has hit all three goals perfectly. The Front drop of -1.3” and rear drop of -1” is a noticeable difference!
The spring rates are also stiffer, noticeable in corner but not noticeable while normal driving. My turn in is a lot better when I take corners and a lot of the understeer is now gone!
Compared to OEM
This is what I would expect as a factory option from Lexus without the price tag of course!
A lot better and aggressive stance while improving handling, and at a wallet pleasing price.
I would recommend this product to anyone with an RCF!
Thanks Josh @ Mod in Japan and Leonard at Swift Springs!

They will all still put the OEM strut out of its normal operating range and shorten its lifespan. I just want to know what makes a Swift spring a quality product worthy of being on an expensive car, and what makes the others not.

So the RS*R and Tanabe were tuned for use on aftermarket struts?

I just know that some spring manufactures goes beyond the stroke length of the stock shocks which will require trimming of the bumpstops. I'm not sure if that applies to RSR and Tanabe.

The car is looking really nice! Very nice drop and good write up. Swift Springs are awesome and they're development and production capabilities are limitless. Hope to see more of your build in the coming future

I went RSR on my F but have used Swift springs before (lowering springs on my first ISF and BC-R W/Swift on my second ISF) and they definitely engineer a great product.
So far I am very happy with my RSR's as well, however I don't find the drop significant enough.
I will wait for options from KW for coilovers or the Swift R-Type before I change them out
