value vs the germans
hi all i am a huge lexus fan and think lexus did a nice job with the rcf.. am i the only one that think this car is hugely overpriced. i sat in a rcf yesterday. nicely appointed no sunroof, armrest a joke ,
no storage space and they want 5k down 899 month give me a break
the cost for lexus to make this car is no more than a GS this car should be 50 k out the door and 688 month all day long
my crystal ball says the market prices will align with this this cars motor is fantastic i loved my 4.3 in the ls430 and the 4.0 in my ls400 and its got another 150hp g-bless ....
too expensive for what the car is

That's what my 1996 SC400 cost me (fully optioned, of course). I wish it'd cost that too, but that doesn't make it not worth it. You want a car not worth what it costs? A Cayman GTS. Was about to pay 100 grand for one, with all of its quad strut suspension, and much less features than the Lexus. Oh, and less performance too. The RC-F is not a bargain, but definitely worth its price of admission, even fully optioned, like mine.

Others may want to look at the RC 350 which is accessible at $50,000.

The proposal of value is relative, and I can assure you that here, amongst buyers of $70,000 luxury sport coupes, the RCF is a fantastic value. What other car offers the performance, technology, sound, awesome NA V8 engine, exclusivity, and most importantly sexy, head turning style of the RCF for less? Sure, we could all wait 10 years and 100,000 miles and finance one for six years, zero down, at a payment of $76/month (or $19/week), but then it would be old and out of style like the other cars mentioned in the OP.
My suggestion; if you are looking to find people who share your sentiments of the RCF being overpriced, try a forum that isn't full of current or prospective RCF owners. We love the car and think it's a great value. Quite frankly I find the LS430 to be a terrible value at it's current average asking price of $8,247 on autotrader as it offers absolutely no style, the performance of an 80 year old man withdrawing after a month long Viagra binge, and is a wallowing boat of a car, but then again this isn't an LS430 forum, so who cares?

the car should be 55k out the door its 20 k overpriced
great motor, i like the look, like the wheels , like the active diff,
handling is not what it should be but more important for comfort in combination with performance ill take a gsf, or buy a used m4 for 50k
thanks

RC F for $55k? You are looking at the wrong class of car. The RC F is $105,000 US in the UK and $130,000 in Australia. The loaded carbon in the US is $85,000 to $89,000.
It was never meant to be a car for the masses.

True to title
I agree with the others that your concept of price to value is way off. When compared to your German competition to the RCF (which would be the M4, C63 AMG s, RS5) the Lexus is a great value. A well equipped M4 bouncing against the 6 figure msrp.
To get a V8, great interior, technology, performance, and still a daily driver, $65k starting is not bad at all. And the numbers you quote are not good either. I leased mine ($79,700 msrp), for under 1000/month with a sign an drive, not even first month payment and they paid off my last 8 payments of my GS lease. Not a bad deal I think lol

Meanwhile everyone here will be in their new, in style 2026 RCF loaded down with all the latest technology, performance, and luxury features. That is our idea of value.
The forum will still be here for you to post in then, and a shiny new RCF forum will be there for us new 2026 owners. For now I think this argument of value can be put to rest. Thanks.
What is done is special features are added in to differentiate the top range model. Nicer seats, better steering wheel (and/or paddles), softer headliner, more sporty pedals or gear shifter, ///M, F or AMG logos placed conspicuously throughout the cabin are all examples of enhancements that you may find on one of these top range models. Take a look at the seats in the RCF and compare them to the seats in an RC350; they alone are nearly sexy enough to justify the premium.
And all of this is on top of all the other enhancements such as the gorgeous exterior body work that transforms the RC from a "nice looking car" to the RCF that can hold its own, looks wise, in the presence of exotics. When you consider all of this with the bespoke power train; a glorious, last of its kind, naturally aspirated V8 hooked up to a RWD chassis and slick TVD, the RCF becomes quite the value for those willing and able to part with the coin.
I completely agree, and I would love to see Lexus adopt the same model even at a premium to their current pricing model. This is just one of the many reasons I purchase or lease new BMW's. With their glorious 4/50,000 plan maintenance is just one less thing to worry about. All I have to worry about is keeping her full of 93 octane and making sure she has a nice set of PSS to wear every time she goes out.
