I'd say the chances of something happening is low, but it certainly can happen.

I just found a small scuff on the rear of my car that wasn't there before I had my tires done yesterday. It's small enough not to bother me, and it may buff out. But it was still not something I was expecting and I also cannot prove where it actually happened. I had my tires installed at the dealer...
where the scuffs on your rims or the car itself?!

On the rear end. The rims are fine. After closer inspection I noticed the scuff is actually on the clear plastic film that's supposed to protect the top of the bumper. So I guess it did it's job. How it actually happened is a mystery...

I'm research for my winter tire on my stock rim. Here is All season tire that I can find in Costco, please advice which is best set up that I should go with stock rim:
Bridgestone® POTENZA RE970AS 255/35R19 FRONT
Bridgestone® POTENZA RE970AS 295/30R19 REAR
or
Bridgestone® POTENZA RE970AS 255/35R19 FRONT
Bridgestone® POTENZA RE960AS 285/35R19 REAR
Thank you for you input!
PS: I'm still consider between all season and winter tire because I live in MD, it is just light snow in here.

Well, first snow of the season here. Drove in maybe 3/4 in of snow and the car was just fine with careful driving. Stops pretty well from 25mph. Going up our driveway was a bit sketchy and may try to add a few bags of sand/salt in the trunk. No clue if this will help.

So they duplicated and overwrote the ID on the second set of TPMS? That is brilliant!

I have a winter wheel & tire setup for sale in the marketplace - they're 245/40-19 XI3's on Niche Misano wheels and work fantastic in snow and ice. I apparently need a "voucher" to keep them posted, so if anyone would be kind enough to do that I'd really appreciate it.

Default Winter set up: IS-F wheels on RC-F

Hi All, I need your help:
There is a lot of info about RC-F wheels on an IS-F, but I couldn't find anything about IS-F wheels on an RC-F, specifically, 2008 IS-F wheels. This is for a winter set up.
I did the math and it looks like the front won’t be a problem, plenty of clearance (the brake calipers shouldn't be an issue since they're the same for both IS-F and RC-F). For the rear, it looks like there will be 1.5mm less of internal clearance, which Im assuming won’t be an issue? Am I missing anything? This is the math:

Thanks!

A member on the forum is running 19x8.5 (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ml#post9699683) on all 4 wheels for a wheel setup on his GS-F (same caliper/rotors issue)... - which is the best possible width we can hope for. As you know, you want the smallest width possible in the winter. 19x8.5 seems perfect.

There should be no issue for the 19x9 rear wheel to clear the rear. Heck, the 19x8 should clear the rear just fine too. But I highly doubt the 19x8 wheel will clear the front, while the calipers are the same. The RC-F/GS-F has a 14.9" rotor diameter compared to the IS-F 14.2" rotor, you may end up having the spokes hit the caliper due to the low width.

I would love to see a 19x8 wheel on all 4, for winter duty. But the community is so small for RC-F/GS-F and most of those cars are in Cali/Texas. Enjoying year round summer tires.

My current winter setup - basically a second set of OEM rims on spacers, powdercoated to gloss black, and using Pilot Alpin PA4 rubber, which is an excellent tire for winter!:

Blacking out TPMS stems:

After a quick wash:

Been seriously thinking about buying a 2016 Lexus RCF that I found but as it's winter wanted to know you guys opinions of winter tire choice for use with the stock 19 inch rims. Also anyone in Toronto know of any good vendors/shops to buy and install winter tires for the RCF? Thanks!
