Mine looks exactly like yours OP, so I'd say normal... at least on front license plate states. It's almost invisible unless at very close distance, so doesn't bother me in the least. And no, I didn't put a front plate myself; never had one on ANY of my cars for over 3 decades, and no tickets for that yet
. But my car came with the bracket and screws (in the trunk), and it'd take me a few minutes to install, if ever needed for a 'fix it' ticket. And can be removed again just as easily, with no trace. I'd still put a rubber backing behind the bracket, to avoid grinding the grille over time. What I didn't like is freaking Lexus not including the 2 front parking sensors; aholes. Ha ha. Other Lexus vehicles with an equally large grille have them. Oh well.
