Wow, I have none of the issues with the transmission that you have. When I put it in sport mode, all systems are go and it's a blast. I also have no issues in day to day traffic or the eco mode which is giving me much better gas mileage than I ever expected. Obviously, we drive differently and I'm sorry this car didn't work out for you. As I always say, if you don't like the car, get one you do like and I hope your next car fits all your needs. Cars should be fun and not a headache or something to put up with, they are too much of an expense considering taxes, licenses and depreciation. Best of luck with your next purchase.

Makes me even don't wanna think about getting one, although i'm more leaning towards a F80 or F82

I test drove the RCF and a C63S back to back and the difference between throttle response and transmission speed and selection was honestly night and day. I also have a few hours seat time in the F80 DCT which is an excellent transmission. It's a shame that they didn't put more work into giving the RCF a proper transmission that could follow the characteristics of the car for day to day sporty driving. The transmission does receive praise for its GForce sensor shifting when on the track, which is a pretty cool feature.

Same boat here... F82 or RC F, both are same price here. I'm just scared of the F82 reliability and paying lots of money to repair... I will buy the car and keep at least 8 years...

This is the best transmission for any ROAD car I have ever had, in real world driving like traffic, cold wet roads, and day to day 65/70MPH speed limits. Is it great if I want to drive like an *** and hammer it and expect it to drop 4 gears in 1 second nope but I use it in manual when I am doing that anyway, if you want to make the car perform and look bad it's easy to do, go 40 and hammer it once it's settled down into 8th gear, or be less of a retard and drive it in manual mode and have it in 2nd. The cars job is to drive smooth and get good gas mileage not stay above 4k all the time.

The transmission is very slow in manual mode until it is warmed up.

more aggressive shifts, faster steering, stronger part throttle, more control of traction options, etc. If it's that big of a deal just drive the car in sport + all the time and it will only get into 6th gear. Not sure why this is such a huge deal and how people can be so damn lazy that this is even an issue.

Lol, i Can't Believe that 2 guys on here are listening to ONE individual say he doesn't like the transmission while they said EVERYTHING they've READ said it was a Great Transmission & on Top of that, 99% of the other Posts said they've NEVER had any issues with the Transmission & they Love it. BUT, they're now Scared of it & looking to Buy something Else REALLY

Yeah I'm just one guy, so maybe its just me. Don't let me scare you away from the RCF. It really is a GREAT car. It does so many things so good and so right. I have a buddy with an M4 and I would take the RCF over the M4 as a daily driver any day. Like a lot of people said, if you want to drive a little more sporty, you can always just do the manual shift mode. The automatic transmission is silky smooth and my only real issue is that I think they compromised the gearing by adding 8 speeds for fuel economy purposes.

I upgraded to a 2014 Audi R8 V10. This seems to have eliminated the downshift lag issue Its pretty peppy, but I am already missing a lot of the technology and convenience features in the RCF. I have to take the key out of my pocket to lock and unlock the doors, and I have to stick the key in the ignition. How 1990's is that? I also lost my back seats so I can't take the guys to lunch any more, and the "trunk" is only big enough for a backpack, so I might have to call one of you guys every time I need to go get groceries

my opinion. in s+ manual mode with the tq converter locked up, it's pretty good (still not dct), but in auto mode, to be honest, it is not that impressive

Congrats?! That's not even in the same league as RC. Lol. The maintenance on that.... but hey, it's truly is a foot in super car territory. Wow. I have the same feeling about the key on the Porsche Panamera I've looked at a few times. Every time I sit in one that damn plastic "key" on the left side kills me. A total turn off. Don't know why. The actual key? Now that's nice. Shaped just like the car.
As for groceries you could always get the RS7. Plenty of oomph, room & trunk for weekend getaway. Bond style
