Here is my update. At 4:40 PM, the Case Manager said he had a 3-way call today with himself, Bill (from the dealership) and the factory technician. They came to the conclusion they will not replace my fuel pump at this time. They want me to wait until Lexus comes up with a remedy.

I pushed back with some questions. I asked how could they conclude the noise is caused by the fuel pump without inspecting my car? I have been trying to get the dealership to inspect the louder noise my car is making since they replaced my fuel pump. I want to know if it is something else that is wrong. Or, is it possible the fuel pump was not properly installed? Or, is it really another bad fuel pump. Shouldn't they be obligated to check/inspect the work they performed? I also mentioned the hesitation when accelerating.

The Case Manager agreed with me that the dealership should have taken the time to inspect the car for the noise. He said he will have Bill/Brian contact me to set up that inspection. I said that is all I have been asking for....for over a week now.

At 5:00 PM the Case Manager called me and said Bill/Brian are in a meeting but Brian will call me as soon as he gets out. He gave Brian all of my contact numbers to call. The Case Manager told me they would probably try to have me bring in the car tomorrow (Thursday) because they will have a diagnostic specialist there.

It is now after 8:15 PM....I have not received the call yet.

A) Not sure how you could possible conclude that the issue(s) do or don't "substantially impair my car"? I was purposely vague on what the issue(s) is/are. B) Not sure of your experience with the NCDS, but, 1) I know the stats on how many ppl actually prevail, and it's under 20% year after year...and, 2) based on my personal experience, NCDS will change the rules daily---and not follow what the law says. For example, they are required by law to allow one to attend the hearing. In my case, they refused to tell me the exact time and location of the hearing, so I couldn't attend. They also made up rules, like they said there is a 30 day waiting period b4 you can file a claim. That's all BS, and points to the whole thing being a scam...and waste of time. Lexus also knows it's a farce, and doesn't even bother to take it seriously. For example, in my case, Lexus said my car was never subject to repair...but then provided the NCDS 4 repair orders where the dealer listed the issue, and said they performed work on the defect. Lexus knows the odds are always in their favor when it comes to the NCDS.

To be entirely honest, I would request to go to another dealership. With the conversation and interaction you've had with this dealership, I'm sure they are full of spite, and quite frankly couldn't give 2 s*****s less about your car. If anything, I would be shocked if you dont' find scratches or something else afterward.

I would recommend going to another dealership and having them do the review, maybe you'll even be able to convince them to put a new pump in (conversation when you're AT the dealer, don't involve corporate)

Yeah...I'm not quite sure why you're giving the OP s****. After dealing with what he has, I would be livid and boardline throwing things.

No. I was driving in my noise making car when I received the 2 calls. Things might get louder later today or tomorrow since it is almost 1:00 pm Thursday and the guy was suppose to call me yesterday.

Do you have any way to video it & see if we could hear it? Maybe somebody on here could tell you what it may be, or has had a similar sound in their RCF before. Just a thought, i'd definitely like to hear it if it's that noticeable. GL

I appreciate your idea. I am not great with computers and videos but if I can figure out how to resize the file (pretty sure 179MB is too large) I will get it posted. I am not a specialist in cars but, as you know, I had the original fuel pump replaced because of the noise it was making. This new noise is the same sound, just louder. If it turns out to be something other than another bad fuel pump, I will definitely let everyone here know what it was.

The dealership's Service Manager just called me a little after 3:00 PM today. He was suppose to call yesterday. Spoke with him for a good 20 minutes. We came to an understanding. I will take my car in Tuesday 2/16 and he will have a diagnostic specialist inspect the car for the source of the noise. To see if it is a new problem, an installation problem of the fuel pump they put in or if the replacement fuel pump is also "bad". When they determine the cause he and I will discuss what will be done.

We agreed that when this is resolved, he and I will sit down to discuss all of the personnel/staff issues I had to put up with. And, will discuss what will be done about it. And, what will be my future relationship with his dealership.

Video attached.
I was trying to capture the noise from outside the car.
!. Yes, I hate vertical video recording, but I was trying to capture audio and was moving my phone around.
2. The hum can be heard mostly at the beginning and end of the video.
3. Play the audio through your car or through headphones to really hear it.

^^^ Definitely hear that hum. Now I'll know what to look for if ever it happens to mine. Thanks for posting.

BTW, does the hum start faintly and get progressively worse over time to the point of pump failure? What is the time gap (or mileage) between the first time heard and failure...

1) I applaud your for sticking by your guns. Not many people even dare to have done what your doing

2) I also think you kind of naive for letting Lexus even deal with the car and promise that the dealership will get a "specialist" to "check" anything. They have been pretty clear on their stance. Not gonna replace anything. You might have another unrelated issue causing the noise (highly doubt it), but with the dealer in autopilot expect a simple formal onceover with the traditional 1 hour in the service bay for nothing

But still props to ya for sicking it to the stealer
