How do you get dealership value being lower than current auction prices. Obviously, dealership will make initial offers low as they can and many suckers or people that simply do not want to bother with the process accept the low ball offers, but dealers pull their inventory from auctions at auction prices. High end dealer will also generally keep the trade ins in better condition and send the remainder to auction so, in essence, the auction prices should be lower than actual dealer value for a clean, no story vehicle.

If you guys want a decent idea of what the car is worth take it t Carmax. It's somewhere in between private party and dealer. Takes about 30 minutes and you get an offer good for a week.

Purely a guess but I would imagine $5k less. Have to take taxes, holding costs, etc into account. Additionally, I think their numbers update every few days so if a bunch of us buy brand new 15s for ~$60k I'm sure values are going to drop pretty quick. Websites like KBB update quarterly so it might take a few months for them to catch up to market prices, at least that's what I've been told.

Carmax is quite good as estimating since they also calcualte market value with secondary adjustment rate.

I'm personally sick and tired of losing tens of thousands of dollars by trading in cars to go after the next hot thing. I'm definitely in my RCF for the long-term which is 5-7 years for me which is why I got the first year model which makes Lexus F the only performance vehicle I trust in its class to keep my wallet happy from fixing broken things which leads to my other point.
I'm just as into lifted overlanding trucks as I am small sports cars so that'll be my next focus. Once the RCF has lived out its life, my next vehicle will no doubt be one that is used and NOT lose value. I'm done with keeping up with the latest and greatest. I am in the market, moving forward, for special edition vehicles where governance, scarcity of resources, low volumes, oddball board decisions etc dictate desirability/pricing.

FYI, just two days ago I saw a 2015 White with Red leather and carbon package with 14k miles selling for $60k. I called the seller and it's a middle-age man and he said he was firm on the price. I guess it's a good deal. It seems like it holds value pretty well. It's in SoCal.
