Nice taillights on that ISF ^_^

Glad you were able to walk away from the other without taking a major hit. At least you had the opportunity to own one already.

Since I will be returning the RCF soon, I decided to put the two cars together for a brief couple night shots in DTLA. I am obsessed with Obsidian...
Congrats bud! Did Lexus purchase back the amount that you paid for it or KBB value?
Either way, glad to see you're still in an F!

Lexus' buyback program follows the reimbursement terms of your state's Lemon Laws. In my case, they followed CA laws and once they determined my case was applicable, I was entitled to a full reimbursement including sales tax and interest paid on any loans as well as service costs if any maintenance was paid out of pocket.

They subtract a mileage offset fee which is based on a calculation of the mileage at which the problem first occurred over the car's useful life multiplied by the original purchase price. In my case I only had to pay about $2500 and have put nearly 15,000 miles on the car. Not bad!

Forgot to mention that I love your new ISF...especially with the color. Congrats to you!

I have contemplated replacing my 2015 GS350 with either an ISF or GSF...

The "fuel pump issue" is exaggerated.

The MAJORITY of nationwide owners have zero problems with RC F fuel pumps--including this owner.

I received one of the first 2015 USB carbon TVD RC Fs delivered to the northeast--zero fuel pump issues at 5,800 miles.

Default Fuel Pump Poll in Club Lexus--Really?

View Poll Results: Has your RC F experienced any Fuel Pump issues?

None yet, car's mileage is BELOW 5000 miles. 20 40.00%
None yet, car's mileage is ABOVE 5000 miles. 19 38.00%
Yes, with car's mileage BELOW 5000 miles. 5 10.00%
Yes, with car's mileage ABOVE 5000 miles. 6 12.00%

If my mathematics serve me correctly, out of the 50 owners polled 39 have ZERO issues with the fuel pump and 11 have alleged fuel pump issues.

Have the 11 fuel pump issues all been verified as "fuel pump" problems--replaced, etc.?

Kindly stop trying to derail my thread with discussion of whether the fuel pump problem affects all owners or not. Glad you haven't had issues, but you have relatively low mileage. I have almost 15K on the RCF.

There's probably a dozen other threads where you can try to dissuade people that the fuel pump issue is not real. This is a thread about my experience with the RCF and what I decided to replace the problematic car with. My fuel pump and car was determined by Lexus to be factually problematic, not "allegedly" and I'll soon have the check to prove it.

ISF001 please exit this thread. There is no point or common ground for this discussion in this thread.

Congrats on the new IS! I have to say the two cars look really awesome together in your pictures and really compliment each other nicely. I have always liked that style wheel that came with your IS, and looks like it came with some other nice upgrades as well. I like the tail lights on the IS a lot. Are those the factory ones and I have just never noticed the light pattern, or are those aftermarket ones? They look like the ones that I have seen on the new body IS.

Thanks for the kind words! It's funny, the 2010/2011 ISF wheels are not my favorite, I much prefer the 2012+ ones but they are so rare. I am thinking of getting aftermarket wheels but there's so many choices and I would probably do it in conjunction with suspension down the road.

And the tail lights are aftermarket from NigelJDM and I picked them up from CL member MikeFoxx. I think they look very close to OEM, and I swapped them immediately after getting the car. None of my friends could tell they weren't OEM which says a lot of the quality.

agree 10000% my RC-F is a dogged POS compared to my 2008 IS-F. I wish i could upload the letter I sent to Lexus.

The car is a dogged, cheap POS. PERIOD. and will be gone from my driveway ASAP.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a cheap POS. It does what it does very well which is a comfortable sports GT with more rarity and muscle than a M4. It's not a perfect car and it's not for everyone but I really did feel sad about letting the car go when I returned the vehicle to Lexus. It's also the first car I bought brand new, as all my previous cars were second hand. So this purchase did feel special to me and still does. I don't dislike the RCF at all. With increasing aftermarket support it could be a great platform to build on. Like I mentioned earlier, I'd totally be down to purchase a later model year RCF once all these issues are ironed out.

But overall Lexus' buy back program and the folks at Lexus HQ have been accomodating and understanding. I provided documentation of all my dealership's attempts at fixing this problem and submitted it along with a request for buyback. No lemon lawyers involved which I think Lexus obviously prefers. They still reimburse you according to Lemon Laws and it is a very consumer-friendly deal.

Hopefully your experience with Lexus results in a happy outcome.
