no this is not tire slippage, the car hesitates, it falls flat on it's face then grabs lurches and takes off like a rocket.

+1 same issue...

Question is if the 2016s experience the same as well?

Fluids must be at operating temps or the ECU will restrict acceleration. Once everything is at temp, the F will not have any acceleration issues in Sport or Sport+.

Remember: this car is engineered to rev. Put it into manual, Tach it up to at least 4-5k rpm, and you will not lose a beat.

Also when decelerating and coming to slow stop, sometimes it jams/jams into first gear on its own. Doesn't happen all the time but sometimes.

Overall, I still like the tranny and finding which mode works best in which situation like bumper2bumper traffic, light traffic, slow driving, etc...

Does this happen to anyone else?

Thumbs down

I just had that notorious 2 sec hesitation, while driving today. Annoys the crap out of me!

I stated that it was "when car was fully warmed up" meaning when both coolant and oil triangles/arrows are dead center of the gauges.

So it was engineered on my car in sport+ mode to lose a beat in the lower rpms in manual/auto mode?

Take a video on your smartphone and show us what is happening. If you are taching up, there should be no delay.

I will have to get a vid when I get the chance.

Accelerating slowly I still have my slight hesitation right at 2k RPM in S and S+ mode...I am fully warmed up and doesn't matter if I am in auto or manual mode...still get the same results...I have just learned to live with it b/c the rest of the RPM band is fine.

It doesn't do this in 1st gear but I notice it in higher gears. I will have to double check it does this in 2-8 gears.

1k RPM? Idle is 750 and I have never seen my car get to 1k even at 40MPH in 8th gear.

The RC F in "normal" mode will drive like any Lexus. If you select Sport auto, sport manual, sport + auto, sport + manual, you need to REV the engine. This car has a wonderful, high revving engine. Get on it and you will not experience any issues.

I have the 2200 rpm 2nd gear hesitation as well.

For those who posted that also have it, do any of you have the Apexi Accel controller? Wondering if this might mitigate the hesitation...

My bad...I accidentally put 1k rpms but meant 2k

Yeah, it is when I am slowly accelerating that it happens. I don't notice as much when I get on it.

I have the APEXi throttle controller but haven't had a chance to install it yet.

Turn off Eco mode in settings. its been almost a month since I turned it off no lag or delay and no fuel pump noise either. I def felt a difference turning it off the car responds much better

Not sure if that will do anything in S/S+ but I will give it a shot

No. If it is consistently happening, take it to service for diagnostics.
