First "race" with the RC F and it was with an R8 ! My wife was in her NX behind me and my son in the passenger seat snapped a pic at the light
He had an adult female passenger and I took off a half second before while we we rolling at about 60 kph. I had my daughter in the front seat (100 lbs). I expected him to overtake me and he never did! I was always about one car length ahead then I let go at 140 kph and he passed me. His passenger gave me the thumbs up.
You may have raced the V8 model. Our 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are very similar
I had a similar experience. I was headed home late late at night, it was around 3 am, I was pretty much by myself on the highway. I catch up and pass a MB GLK350 and notice as I pass it that he speeds up to keep up to my speed. Then he speeds up and passes me then slows down to where I pass him again. He then started doing this over and over, passing me and slowing down passing me and slowing down and keep in mind it's 3 am and there's no other cars on a 5 lane highway, he's doing this on the lane right next to the one I was in so I got sick of it. I don't know if he was trying to race (not that he would stand a chance in a glk350) but I punched it and he quickly dissappeared back there somewhere as if it was just standing still. Plus, it really looked too good not to punch it... a desolate straight 5 lane highway in front of me was too much to resist
Agreed! I do this a lot in my is350 around v8 or turbo powered cars just to see what they can do lol. At the same time I also do it to just about anything I'm curious about.. Like damn, that civic doesn't sound stock to me, wonder what he can do?
Also not a street racer or whatever by any means. I just like to see a car do a pull every now and then out of curiosity. Im a car fanatic so I love to see cars be.. Well, cars
I just sort of had a race with a IS250. I think they actually just wanted to see and hear the RC F. I obliged. I was already cruising at 70, so I dropped to 3rd and wound it out through 4th. The driver gave a wave.

Can confirm. I've done that before to cars way faster than the IS350 just to see and hear the other car do its thing. Usually end it with a big thumbs up
just ran a CTS-V Coupe in my RCF today (told the guy hey your car is faster but im currious how far back i'll be)
20 - 100mph i was approximately 3-4 car lengths back, those supercharged v8s are no joke. I almost pulled the trigger on a CTS-V coupe prior to buying this RCF. Honestly that would have been the easiest platform out of the 3 cars i looked into (M4, RCF & CTSV coupe) to make quick high hp out of. The M4 guys just need a $1000 tunner to get 530whp on pump while us guys with the RCF or even ISF can only do basic bolt ons or nitrous before its gets complicated and extremely high priced dollar per hp.
=Raykwon02;9443572]I haven't ran into an ATS-V, but ran multiple CTS-V coupe/sedan and pulled them all except one. I'm not referring to the new CTS-V obviously. Also pulled a ton of other cars, C63 AMG coupe/sedans, modded E92 M3's, modded N54 335is, nearly every SRT8 possible, 2015 Mustang GT, 2013 E63 AMG, modded WRX STI(430whp), 2016 Camaro 1SS, stock M4, I/E 2012 IS F.
Cars that have pulled me: F80 M3 with a tune+ other mods, M4 with tune+other mods, 2013 Nissan GTR(much closer than expected), 2012 C63(tune,exhaust,other mods), CTS-V on spray(he confessed after the run), CLS63(closer than expected), 2015 C7 Z51 package(very close).
The RC F does very well from a roll. Most of the runs above are callouts at local meets, I'm usually minding my own business and people will approach me. The best part is when they're all excited to videotape what they expect is a kill against an RC F and it turns out the other way around.[/QUOTE]

That's why I can't wait until I get my forced induction. I love it when people are expecting a kill but they get killed instead. I love sleepers.
I don't know what it is with the G35/37 crowd, these guys (not all of them) just love the "flyby" and to accelerate as fast as they can between stoplights. Not to mention the weaving in and out of traffic...
Hello guys... I have always wondered what RPM and gear selection is best for our cars? For example, if it was a 40 mph roll, would it be better to do 2nd gear at higher rpm or 3rd gear at a little lower rpm? Also do you shift at redline or when you hear the beepr or a bit before?
In my Mazdaspeed 3, i've always done 40 MPH rolls in 3rd gear and shifts around 6300 RPM even though it redlines at 6700 RPM. Mainly because the Speed 3 has small turbo and it falls on its face after 6300 RPM as seen in dyno charts.

Our RC F makes much more power at the top end of the gears. At 40 mph I would certainly be in 2nd gear, no question. If you really want to know for yourself then try starting from 2nd gear and 3rd gear at 40 mph. You will feel a big difference in the pull (or just look at the G-force meter).
When I'm trying to do optimum shifts, I shift at 7k+ rpm. Redline is 7300. I don't know if redline is optimal or not. But I do know that if you hit the rev limiter you are not shifting optimally.
I'm not sure if they fear the RC F or if they don't think it's worth the time. But most of the races I have are with people who have already raced me, and I haven't lost yet. Maybe they like to hear the exhaust? I know that I do.
Going a little off topic but I have more people trying to race me in my GS350 than any of my other cars, its truly a little funny.
Funny it was the other way around the other day for me, a guy in a GS350 F-Sport tried racing me but I was in my 300zx and not my RC-F... either way the guy never had a chance lol
Lexus makes fast cars in general. even the old ones are. my 95 LS400 pulls HARD on the highway, harder than most people realize and most are stunned by it. including an A8L, 750Li, S550, and other supposedly fast full size luxobarges. total sleepers.
however, the day an RCF driver tries to pick a fight with me, I will respectfully decline...
