Why did you choose the RCF?

My RCF story
The RCF is my first sports car and I don't think I chose my RCF as much as it chose me. Long story short, I admittedly was at the dealer to buy another CPO LS460 (previously owned 3 of them) but when I saw the RCF, I had to have it (as long as it fit my golf clubs haha). I did no research and was the polar opposite of what I was used to for 20 years. As I drove off the lot, I was already doubting this 2 door, stiff ride, "mid-life" decision.
When I got home I had total buyer's remorse and barely slept that night. I finally got out of bed at 4:00AM, went into the garage to look at this disaster. The lines were so foreign, but beautiful at the same time unlike anything on the road. After a few minutes, this beast telepathically said "Drive me now". It was early Sunday morning so there was no traffic, I got in and initially drove it like an old man in a 4 door sedan. The turnaround came when I ended up on a stretch of 3 mile deserted, twisty road. Got on the gas, pushing it harder and harder, switching eventually to Sport and then Sport+. The seats cradled my torso, allowing me to push it's limits a little more each time. It was exhilarating to say the least. I drove that stretch of road at least a dozen times and my pulse raced. I literally let out a "woohoo" in the middle of one of the late runs and all the remorse I had felt earlier had completely vanished.
It's almost one year later. When I get in, it still feels like new. The quality of this car is unmatched. I took it to the dealer yesterday for an oil change and while I was waiting, browsed around the lot and there was NO RCF's to be seen. This car is so exclusive, even the dealer didn't have one! Finally, the tech was finished with the service and brought the car out to the staging area. As I was signing the paperwork, 3-4 young men surrounded my car admiring it and overheard one of them say "What a bad-*** car". That pretty much summarizes it. It's a "Bad-*** car".

I upgraded to the RCF because it felt natural to do so after owning an ISF for over 5 years. The RCF felt grown up in a way compared to the ISF. Interior, aesthetic, and refinement all appealed to me. But I have to add the "rawness" of the ISF was deeply missed, so after less then a year with the RCF and decided to go a different route and picked up a GT350. Now I have all the rawness I could want.

How much faster does it feel than the RCF?

For me, it's simple. I love Lexus and wanted the panache and exclusivity of owning an F model. Add the rare V8 engine (among a dying breed), V8 engine/exhaust note, Lexus quality, reliability, and refinement, and unique styling to support its performance, RC F was calling me.

I first picked up a BRZ more than 2 years ago and I'd even take it out at night just for a quick drive. I even modified the suspension, got an ARK Grip exhaust, ran E85, etc. but I slowly lost interest before I decided on a supercharger. Unfortunately it became more of compensating for what the car lacked than modifying to enjoy. The BRZ depreciated hard, high revs just to keep up with commuters, no armrest or any sort of sunglass or phone space, and eventually grew out of the interior feel. Even the new Maxima interior made me want more out of my car. Oh and subaru's new white killed it for me but that's another story.
Interestingly enough I wanted an IS350 just to have a V6 commuter and the RC-F was always an unreasonable option until I read the forums and learned about Lexus' dealer cash and how CPOs were hitting the 50s range. Not only that, if the 3rd gen IS had an IS-F I knew I'd buy one right away. When you're aiming low for a 3.5L V6 it doesn't even matter how much of an upgrade the 5.0 would be, you just know it'll be a treat. I never test drove one but ended up flying down to so-cal from north to see if a CPO gray RC-F w/ perf pckg would be as clean as described and I'd pick it up. Obviously didn't buy another ticket just to fly back lol.

I got it for the uniqueness, driving experience, and reliability. I was looking at other competitors in the same class: M4, RS5, etc. All cars satisfied at least 1 or 2 of the checkboxes, but imo the RC F beats out all of the others on all 3 of these categories combined
