No Im looking to open up to the trunk, the pass through, maybe permanently. A picture of the upper part of the seat will help me decide what to do about the finish.

The reason why the RC F seats do not have the option to fold down like the other RC models is because of additional structural bracing behind the seats. So I am curious what a pass through will look like. I would not remove the structural bracing...

ill take some pics of the bracing later. i have everything in my trunk out . it was a lot work if you are meticulous and don't want to break anything. not sure if that black metal bracing is removable.

Great thread. Will be very useful when I tint the windows... I was dreading the rear windshield but now with the seats out, it shouldn't be too bad at all.

I just removed my rear seat. Super easy. The white clips are almost like a one time use according to the parts description from Lexus/Toyota... and of course both of mine broke...lol

Good news is they are $0.69.
Part number: 7269312080

In case anyone needed them as well.

Thanks for sharing that! I will probably have to order some of those as I do plan on popping my rear seat cushion off. Are the clips for the bottom cushion or the upright?

The white clips are for the bottom seat cushion. They're actually identical to our 2007 Toyota Solara bottom seat cushion clips lol.

The rear cushion uses black ones and is a much better design why they didn't do the same design for the white ones I don't know?

Bottom white bracket.

Top rear backrest clip

I'll do it tomorrow after work. they aren't super heavy at all. I honestly wish we got the split fold down seats in the RCF. Would have been better than the silly pass through.

You can see the 10-point chassis brace there for rigidity in that picture. That is why we don't have folding seats.

A great piece of evidence as to why these cars are as heavy as they are. Also since the rear seats are made of fairly lightweight material I supposed they wouldn't weigh much anyway, but hey its weight reduction bro!

Yep. One of the many things. There are rigidity beams running along the door as well. The sills have added reinforcements for longitudinal rigidity and gussets along the firewall for added torsional rigidity of the front end.

So I am not happy with how I tinted my rear windshield. There ar a few blemishings and a few specs of dust that I should have been more thorough with that I can't live with...smh. (i didn't foget to weigh them either, I'll be doing that shortly.)

Removed the rear seats again. (Buying the white clips again since they of course broke). How do you remove the side pieces? I see there is a bolt at the bottom but how do they ocme off?

Please see picture. Does anyone also know how to remove the rear decklid/ rear pillar pieces. I want to remove as much as possible to make it as clean as possible.

EDIT:
You remove the plastic trim piece that the seat belt fabric goes through... just simply pop it out. Then there is a bolt behind that and there is a lower bolt. Once you remove both of those bolts then the trim piece comes right off. Very easy to do. Makes taking the side trim pieces by the headliner off a lot easier. Just be careful with the trim piece as I've been told they can get scuffed/marked easily if you aren't careful popping them off. I had no issues and no marks. Just use a plastic pry tool from the 12-16 piece kit that are on amazon. Very easy to do.
