Fast forward 1 minute. While it's hard to judge decibel level on a video just knowing how far away from the mic the car gets paints a pretty good picture of how loud it is.

I believe this video has been shared elsewhere on the forum and I also know which member it is but don't know if they want their name being thrown around...
Not an accurate video considering he has headers here!

Yeah, I know.

But headers or not it's still going to be loud.

To the OP: In order to get any worthwhile gains it's going to mean opening up the exhaust. Which is going to make it loud. My advice is to not worry about the gains and just get the exhaust which sounds the best to you with a tolerable volume.

For what it's worth PPE sells a dual mode exhaust for the isf which several of in the isf forum have. List is $3250 with cats, or $330 less without. Mike at Figs sells for around 2950 with cats. At least gives you a ball park, I wouldn't expect it to be less quite likely it will more expensive then the isf version since tips will be included plus include any market premium that might be tacked on.

Now that I have heard ( the youtube recording) of the Meistershaft mid pipe only install to stock exhaust Im thinking that might be a better way to go than a resonator delete or even Borla .
thoughts?

Agreed. Midpipe will not have a huge effect on both performance and sound. You are better off with the Borla if the $2800+ for the dual mode exhausts (PPE or Meistershaft) isn't in your budget. The Borla is a great choice so don't let the price fool you. It's probably the most popular exhaust we sell for the IS F because not everyone wants to drop $3k on an exhaust system.

1700 for just a MS mid pipe. And the sound was a significant increase according to the youtube videos I watched.
but youre right in that if Im going to spend 1700, might just get a full Borla. (Except the Borla tips havr been disapointing to peep)

i had the joe z and PPE. The joe z by itself was nice. I did not enjoy the sound with the ppe headers were installed. went with the apexi resonated and ppe. I am a firm believer that this car needs to have a H-pipe design cat back when going with the headers. The x-pipe design (most header backs in the market for us) scavenges TOO MUCH exhaust gas. The H-pipe is what the car needs combined with headers. I think the Meister craft (sp) flows too much for adding headers making ALL of your power at the very very peak of the rpm range

whats ur opinion on installinng just the Meister mid pipe and leaving stock header, cats and axleback?

i mean that would be fine but all the power comes from the header. because of cat delete and equal length runners.

Here's a video of my RCF with the full Meisterschaft exhaust in Ti. Stock headers. I initially planned on installing the valves but later decided not to, I liked how it sounded but my neighbors didn't.

And here it is now with a much more quiet exhaust, Icode titanium.
