RR Racing Intake vs. K & N Intake
#16
Prompted by the last few posts I went to the garage to take a look at the aux intake. Either we need to open up.air via front of the vehicle in a direct path to this aux opening via a hood mod or a right headlight housing mod
or
Rafi is on to something. There is already an opening in the fender metal from the wheel well just below the aux intake. It is covered with that foamy platic layer they lined the inside if the wheel well with.
You can reach your hand around and into the wheel well just above the tire and feel and knock on the foamyplastic insulation piece and see that IF sme how that was opened up in a screened or protected manner, so as to reduce water entry, then Maybe we get the ambient air temp flowing in to the aux to be lower?

true, it wouldnt be perfect But if the hood duct is doing its job and moving the hot air out And the brake duct was now feeding cooler air into the compartment near the aux intake I could see where it would be cooler.
but now that you mention a closed system. Im curious what it would take to creat such a mod
Rafis, your SC intake, would it need some extra venting too, as it is just a large cone filter. Not a direct cai??
