Default Parking sensor RC F

Hi everyone,

I took my car to the dealer last week because the parking sensor wasn't working. I get a message that Park Assist is no longer available and to clean the sensors so I took the car in because I cleaned it numerous times and it still appears. The dealer says its clean but they are saying it is likely because of my tom's racing carbon rear vinyl. They are calling for permission to remove the carbon sheet but I don't think that is the reason at all. I put it on 6 months ago and if it was the reason, it should have happened sooner.

I also took the car in because of squeeky brakes. After replicating the sound, the dealer still does not want to change the brakes.

Thank you guys for any advice.

It ain't the toms vinyl. I have it on my car. No issues. So lame they want to blame it on that.
I'd find a different dealer to deal with.
The brake tsb is so common place. Don't see why dealer would push back?

They will blame anything not originally on the car. If the install was not difficult, let them remove it to test. When it still happens with it gone, they will have less of a leg to stand on. They can always argue damage during the original install but again I have no insight into what is involved with putting those in, I'm sure that you and Mingo know better there.

*edit* did not realize that was just vinyl. Definitely would not let them remove.

Thanks guys, I know for a fact its not the vinyl. The dealership said they would not cover it anyways if they removed it and that was not the problem. I took my car back already. Basically they had my car for a week and did nothing. Parking sensor still not working correctly as it still says its dirty. Going to find another dealership to take it to.
