Heard some folks on the forum say that the occasionally their tires rubs with a screw in the lining and that they replaced with plastic grommet that is more flush. Maybe that's what's rubbing?

It will eventually go away when nothing is left ... Some people trim the liner, I would advise not removing the liner because you can kick **** up (water and dirt) into the fender.

Me personally, I let the tire rub till there was nothing left, now I have no rubbing issue. Time to bump it up to 265 in the front.

went with a thicker sidewall due to the roads out here in la and also not a fan of the look of low profile tires

Paul,
First congrats on the premium Gt's. Purty!
I thought you were gonna scrub with 28 fronts, especially with 35 profile tires on swifts.
Just go with it till it stops like pheen did. Without fender liner you'll get tons of dirt & water into engine bay. Prolly don't want that.
If only you had coilovers, you could go up just a few turns. May be the next mod?

You can also camber in a little bit until it doesn't rub with front control arms. Or raise up your coilover height.

And you tires are 1" taller than stock. That's really quite a bit. I'm not surprised they are rubbing Do you happen to know the wheel offset?

Have you thought about rolling the fender? A little roll might be all you need before spending $$$ on camber arms.

Brother Lou,

He is running 20’s so it’s more than likely 20x9.5+28...

Its NOT the fender LIP itself but the inner fender liner...Coilovers will solve that issue like what MING stated.
