Amazing a Lexus can depreciate 50% of MSRP in just 2 years. I've been looking at a new 2016 RCF listed at $76k, which the dealer offered at $55k. If I were to purchase it would probably drop another $15k as soon as I drive it off the lot. I may hold out for a used one as I've seen some listed in the high $30s.
the high discounts is part of the problem.. who wants to buy used for $50K when new are going for $55K.. deep discounts hurt resale.. It is highly disappointing that Lexus is discounting the RC-F as much as they are.. But it is not surprising.. I have only ever seen 3 other RC-F besides mine in 2 years.. It is just not a popular vehicle, it is unique and an acquired taste, which is why I like it, it stands out and isn't a cookie cutter vehicle, but as such it also doesn't sell well.
Where are you seeing rcfs for 55k? Lol few people on the forum have gotten left over 17s including myself but not for 55 k lol
This is a '17 leftover RCF at the dealership I visited over the weekend. That's an awesome price for a new RCF Imo! Considered picking it up just because it was a good deal....but quickly reminded myself I was holding out for the LCF...lol.
But I doubt this car will last long at this price...
It seems that L certified RCF with under 30k miles are selling for under $45k at the dealership, which mean they probably bought it for under $40k. My IS is the same way for the first 2-3 years.
Where are you seeing high $30k for the RCF? Do you guys think it will go even lower?
I've also noticed several at dealerships listed around $45k, and I assume they got them for $40k or less... but there aren't any private sellers listing that low. I prefer to purchase from a private seller where I know the full history of the car and have all the records. I'm still waiting for the right F at the right price.
As far as under $40k? I haven't seen anything like that unless it has an accident or 70k miles. With clean 2011+ ISFs still pulling close to $40k with low-ish miles, I doubt a clean low-ish mile RCF is worth less than $40k for a while.
