Up north, people are not that excited about getting any high powered rear wheel drive sports car in the middle of the snow storm! That Lexus dealership will have to wait until Spring/summer to move that car.......hence the discount now!!!

x2

Same here. RWD high HP sports cars sit on the lot during winter months and get sold right at the beginning of spring. Majority wants AWD in their sports cars. 3-series and Lexus IS or even RC are sold only in AWD. M3/M3 are seen every once in a while even during snow days with winter tires on. Having said, I saw about 50 cars today ll along the highway in a blizzard that crashed with cops everywhere. Funny thing is, I must have counted close to half of them being SUV, trucks and other AWD cars.

Plus, these cars are slow to move already. They're not exactly selling like hotcakes. This is a niche car.

When I got my '16 last year, I'd encountered several leftover brand-new '15 models also on the East Coast (specifically NY). They sat unsold for two years and the same are happening with these '16s. There were more unsold there than on the West Coast. Obviously, for the reasons stated above.

Paid 49k plus tax. As a newbie, I am looking for the Lexus experts to tell me if I paid too much?

Dealer is offering 5 year extended warranty for 3k. Also offering next 2 years scheduled services free, if I paid 1400 down right now. Are these worth it?

Please advice.
I also bought a 2015 RCF with 12500 miles (now 14300 3 months later), and paid $49k. I have same package options as you. So I think we did pretty well.

Congrats!

46k for a low mileage performance package RCF in my old town in USB.

I paid 8k more (despite being CPO) last year for my 2nd color choice of NGP. I do wish I waited for deals like this first but knowing this dealership, there's a chance it's not pristine.

But still surprised at their price point. Crazy how good of a deal 50k was for RCFs in perspective to what I think the car offers but now they're NEW at that price.

I still don't see the dip to 30s for a while, but at this point we are getting there faster than most expected. At what point will a 2012 ISF worth high 30s be worth the same as a 15 RCF and why would that make sense if anyone can share their input?

Lexus has done a really poor job of marketing the F brand to performance enthusiasts. Great for Lexus fans, but they've not pulled any significant numbers from the competition in the space, so these cars are not holding value the way one would hope. Pristine or not, when you look up the VIN on Google, there are no wrecking yard pictures associated with it, so if anything did happen, it was relatively minor (cost of repair not exceeding standard valuation for total loss). It is surprising it has the performance package at that price. For that kind of money, it would almost make sense to get it and supercharge it right away. At least then it would be very mechanically competitive with other manufacturer's offerings at this price point.
