Default Exhaust - no drone / resonance

I think most would agree that the stock exhaust for the RC-F (GS-F and IS-F) falls short on the noise front, but is there an after market exhaust that has no drone / resonance (comparable to the stock system)?

Personally, I've heard (in the flesh), plenty of after market exhausts, but they all seem to suffer from some sort of drone / resonance somewhere in the rev range.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I have the Borla.

At cruisin speeds (65 mph to 75 mph), no drone. Other times, just the BIG V8 ROAR!!! LOL.

Wow. ANOTHER thread. Guess that gets me off the hook.

Josh from Meraki knows his stuff for sure. BTW Josh - Im in a holding pattern on Armitryx.
That Valvetronic System has truly drawn me in, but the new Wheels & Tires, Suntek PPF, etc set me back a little bit.

I assume you did some searching around the whole Forum before posting FlyTvr?
Most all the Aftermarket Exhaust Threads contain great info on systems that DO seem to drone out, and others that are minimal. That was a question even I posted in my Exhaust Thread too
IMHO- there will always be some form of Drone while driving long periods of time on the highway. Its inevitable.

Yes, I've had a good read - thanks.

I agree in thinking that some drone / resonance is inevitable.

I've only ever heard Borla on an IS-F and the owner openly admitted to careful selection of gears to avoid drone.

The ISF system is a little different than the RCF.

One of the members and customers on here is a doctor and needs his RCF to be quiet during phone calls and he said the RCF has 0 issues with drone and phone calls.

If that's the case, that's great news Josh

Anyone from the UK got a Borla system?

Hey All! Brand new to the forum and just purchased a 2015 RC F. I've read a lot of posts on here about exhaust and have the same concerns about the droning while at normal speeds. But my question of the Borla system, which I've actually heard and driven when looking to buy, is that it deletes the cats right? I live in a county that requires emission inspections yearly so it seems the Borla is not an option for me. Am I correct in this thinking?

^^^^It deletes the secondary cats, not the primaries, that are integral with the exhaust manifolds. There is no exhaust measurement either before or after the secondaries, so no problem with an emissions test. I don't know the rules In Georgia, but you should pass, unless they do a visual, which I doubt.

I think the Aimgain was a somewhat discrete exhaust with no drone. Whatever, the production of it seem to have stopped. Can someone confirm ?

I distinctly recall someone telling me that my Armytrix Valvetronic System would pass Emission Testing as well (Perhaps it was you Lou?)
As you stated above, I also had my Secondary CAT removed, and truly couldn't be happier with this unreal System. No Drone Zone here!
