If you happen to be a fan of car-oriented TV shows like Wheeler Dealers, etc. and a fan of Japanese cars, then check out a new show called JDM Legends that started up several weeks ago on the Velocity channel. If you are into Nissan Skylines, this is the show for you. They just did a frame up restoration of a 74 Skyline GTR last week, which was really interesting. It really takes much more than an hour to capture a frame up restoration but they do a great job of getting into the details. Plus the shop is located in my adopted home-town of SLC, UT.

So now the owner has a car that no one but him notices is different from before in any way, but it cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
It also won't get out of it's own way. Far less power than a stock 2JZ-GE, or any modern V6.
Since it's not :restored" (and worth something to a collector), why leave the engine as-is?

I can't speak for anyone else but I definitely appreciate the complete attention to detail that JDM Legends and their paint and body guy Mauricio showed on all the work they do, at least for the show. They didn't quote any prices for the work but yeah I'm sure that kind of craftsmanship doesn't come cheap. But that is what I would want for my car.
