Transmission broken on 5k RCF
#16
We pound on the RCF regularly at the track, have almost 20k miles and no trans issues.
Remember, it’s a Lexus and under warranty, so unless not covered due to something else already mentioned (salvage, flood, etc.),you should be ok.
Please keep us informed, inquiring minds want to know!

I am not sure what you have to do to an ISF/RCF tranny to break it! We now have over 60 Supercharged cars on the road with ZERO tranny failures. Clearly, something horrible was done to this car, or its just a very rare defect.

Just a very rare defect. It has happened to ISFs before (there are threads on CL about it with same issues about Reverse not engaging). I drive my car hard but not that hard to blow a transmission. Happen to the Reverse gear. Lexus will give a refurbish shell with all new internals. I *****ed and got extended warranty.

I have to pile on about Lexus honoring warranty. My experience with them so far (currently at about 54K miles) is very good, despite the fact that I have a current disagreement with them over a catalytic convertor. They have jumped on every CEL or other issue I have had as well as the fuel pump recall. I'd be shocked if they didn't warranty your trans.

WELL DannyRCF, it's been over a week now, WHAT'S the status? Can't blame the Dealership for abuse, whether it was the previous owner or you, But IF it was the previous owner that's something YOU should have checked out before you bought it! JMO!
