Yes, it is really worth it.
The engine is so nice. This V-8 is something special. Once you rev it out you know....
I look for reasons to drive it.

IS250s are only fun if you haven't driven an IS350 or much less an RCF. I went from having an IS250 (my first Lexus) to 2 350s, (2IS and then 3IS). The IS350 was SO MUCH MORE fun than the IS250 ever was and now the RCF is just another level. I still miss my IS350s though. The RCF is totally worth it but beware of much higher upkeep than the IS. Tires are more expensive, brakes are more expensive, insurance is more expensive, it uses more gas etc, etc... if you already have all that in mind, then yes it's a great fun car. Not the fastest on the segment but overall, I think it's the best one.
If you really look at it, there are not that many of them for sale compared to other cars on the same segment like the BMW M4. I just did a couple searches for both and for example on Truecar, the M4 brought back 417 listings whereas the RCF only brought back 49... and yeah, almost every single RCF is 2015 with a few 16s and a couple 17s, so yeah, end of leases.

Engine is the most exciting part of the car. High-revving, sonorous V8 with lots of potential with modifications to make better (stock exhaust is very restrictive and quiet). Interior, exterior and the attention it gets everywhere especially with the color I have, make it a phenomenal car.
As I stated above, I bought my mildly used RCF outright with TVD/carbon fiber and it is worth every penny.

Have you test driven an RC F yet? If not, highly recommend it before you decide to make the plunge as it's a big difference in power compared to your IS 250, as you know and have heard. If you want to stay with Lexus and want another car with a surge in performance, proceed to an F model. If you want 4-doors, check out a GS F.
As for myself, I find my RC F to be a keeper and special. It's great to see not many of these around. I wasn't looking for a speed demon. This car has plenty of power for me.
Can't speculate for others why they're not keeping the cars beyond the lease. People have different reasons for letting go of or keeping cars.

I can tell you the only reason I will not keep my RCF at the end of my lease is that the new RCF at that time has been revamped significantly (and in a good way) and/or has received an upgrade in the power department, then I would trade it in for the new one or if I can for some reason get an amazing deal on an LC500. If not, I'm buying my RCF... coming from 10 years of leasing and changing cars every couple years, this one (after 2 years of having it), is the only one that really has me thinking about keeping it for good.

I Love mine, it's hard to believe it's 3 years old now! Seems just like yesterday when I bought it, though it's kinda Embarrassing to say I've only put 5k miles on it. Got to admit though that the Backseat is pretty much useless, other than maybe putting a few groceries back there! JMO

Mine will be staying practically forever. I will keep slowly doing basic mods it to keep things interest like exhaust, tune etc. This high revving V8 is a masterpiece and a dying breed that will never get old.

Nobody will admit this but the truth is that the people that can afford such an expensive car will usually lease the vehicle for 2-5 years. After the lease is over they sell the car. During this period, they thrash the car and drive it very hard as it is currently under warranty. It is a performance car after all. This is why you see a lot of 2-5 year old expensive cars for sale on the second hand market (all out of warranty).

A lot of times people lease instead of buying, especially if used for "business" deductions. Depending on the person's situation, often it is "more advantageous" to lease versus buy (or finance). Leasing becomes more "advantageous" business wise (deductions) as the price of the vehicle get higher and higher........
If the person is paying strictly out of pocket PERSONALLY and NOT FOR BUSINESS, then it's NOT A GOOD DEAL TO LEASE. Buying would be better for PERSONAL use. Some people STILL LEASE for PERSONAL USE bc the monthly payment is much lower versus buying (financing). Usually these peplpe CAN'T afford the month payment due to other obligations or just don't want to spend that much MONTHLY. These people STILL want to LOOK LIKE A MILLION BUCKS without spending the bucks OR they want to drive an RCF but can only pay /only want to pay "Camaro" price (or something like that).
I would not trash ANY car. But I'm sure somebody out there will. For example, if you are buying a car like the RCF from a private individual, look around that household and see who else is around the home. If there are some teenagers lurking around, BECAREFUL bc car abuse potential will be all time high.
