Default 20 vs 19 ultimate performance?

Ok, looking for knowledgeable input. Setting up the rcf for primarily track duty, some street, but mainly autocross leading to the bigger road courses. Penske coilovers with minimal drop are on order. Pilot sport cup 2’s will be the regular tire.
Looking hard at the Vossen wheels. Love simple, strong and light. It seems she keeps going to 5,6 and 7 spoke (it’s her car!).
Whatare your thoughts Andy input on a 19 vs 20 inch wheel? While looks count, I’d put a brick on her if it improved the performance!
again, looking for strong, light, race capable wheels. 𝙈𝙖𝙭𝙞𝙢𝙪𝙢 performance is what I’m lookin for.
thank you for all replies

Personally not vossen and definitely not 20s.
19 for sure. Gram lights??
Cup2 not a great autocross tire. You gonna burn $ 2k real fast...

I'm also looking into wheels. The only performance-related brands I'd consider are Volk, Forgeline, BBS, Advan, and TWS. Sticking with 19s also.

Go 19's - Look for forged wheels for strength. Cup2 great on the circuit but not as good for autocross.

Same. I'm not downgrading from stock. If anyone has a setup like this, I'd be interested in seeing it.

For any given tread width, the 19 inch would be better in every way than 20s in performance/handling. More sidewall means tire "bites" in the corner harder, smaller overall rotational radius and the 20 inch will also raise the roll-center of the car making the car roll along a higher pivot point in corners.

19 inch is the minimum we can do on the RCF due to brake clearance and that is what the best circumference is for performance.

Just like everyone's stated already, go with 19" for sure. Have you considered Advan GT premium wheels? I also considered a rarely mentioned OZ racing wheels (HyperGT HLT). https://www.ozracing.com/alloy-wheel...ch/hypergt-hlt . Even though they are not forged thought behind the engineering seems quite compelling.

Do you think spacers would make an 18 work? I really like the Enkei GTC01RR but they only make them to 18". Performance wise this seems to be the cream of the crop.

No, I think 18s will not work with spacers because the brakes are 15 inches and then the callipers above the brakes also add a few more inches. It might fit, but it will definitely be a tight fit

Curious to know how Novel pulled it off on their Lexus RCF that they ran in this years 24 hr Nürburgring. This is the first instance of spoting an Enkei GTC01RR on an RCF.

Yeah, certain designs from what I believe, can make the 18 inch wheel clear the brakes, but there are not many. Design of the rim, I believe has a lot to do with it.
