Default Center console faux leather deteriorating

I've had my RC F since June 23rd. I notice some white spots and thought it may be where the hand wash place didn't clean off the cleaner well. Come to find out the faux leather is coming off. Is anyone else having this issue. I think it may be due to inserting or removing the seat belt.

Wow! That is quick considering you have a 2018. Take it back to the dealership and they will replace it under warranty.

I daily drive mine and it's 2015. That's either a defect or chemical cleaner? Do you live in hot climate? I don't think from the seatbelt unless you really just over shoot.

I have an appointment at the dealership tomorrow afternoon. They will take their own photos and submit to Lexus for deposition. I looked a little closer and it may be from the belt chafing the area.

Seems like the car is neglected. If you look at the plastic piece, it is all scratched up.

Looks to me maybe the previous owner carries or has something on his belt that kept rubbing that area?

It's not scratched, I took a picture in my garage and the flash on the camera makes it look like it is

In the wrong hands, one can do a lot of damage in just 2200 miles.

I still think the person driving it prior to you taking possession carries or something on his/her right belt that kept rubbing it and caused the damage.

LMAO!!! I insert the seatbelt with my right hand, the belt is between my hand and body when inserted or removed, any scratches on the plastic would come from my wedding band. If this is the case the plastic is too soft.

The faux leather was measured to be 0.5mm/0.020” thick and is tight on the side where it’s deteriorating while the opposite side has padding.

Very odd indeed. Even one who hip "Carries" wouldn't have that condition at that spot. I also use right hand to insert seat belt, and changed from hip to Appendix Carry many years ago! But this isnt the Forum for that.

Dont know how that's fixed or replaced buddy. Please post your fix!!

Is it true that there SEEMS to be more issues with the "red interiors" vs any other interior colors in the RCF line up?

Anybody else with tears or premature wear with the leather/faux leather of other colors?
