Default Battery post corrosion

Any of you deal with this on the positive terminal on your RCF? I've cleaned it, vacuumed the dust while doing it and sprayed cleaner and protector and it's doing it again. I know you can buy the felt disc to put under a regular shaped posts and it helps. Is there anything out there for this odd shaped battery?

there is a spray Battery terminal protector spray. I wonder if its the area you live in. If it is excessive have the battery inspected by dealer.

I'm old school Vaseline has worked for me for years You smear it on very lightly on the top of the clean posts after the cables are attached. It lasts until the next time you fiddle with the battery. Also to clean off corrosion, you could get an inexpensive wire terminal brush:

It fits over the terminal and you rotate it back and forth. I haven't needed to use mine in years.

I used a spray. I'll try Vaseline. Thanks

Coat it with dielectric grease. Vaseline is OK but typically melts and runs off when it heats up under the hood. You can get a little tube of dielectric grease for a few bucks, lasts for years.

I spray my posts with Corrosion X from time to time. No corrosion ever.

If your terminals are corroding, your battery is junk. The posts have seals to prevent hydrogen from corroding the posts. When the seals fail, the posts and terminals corrode. It is not normal for modern battery terminals to corrode.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but driving my F into work today, check engine came on and the car felt like it went into limp mode. Pulled up to a stop light and it damn near died at idle. Popped open the hood and noticed my battery terminals were all corroded. Went back down to the parking garage a little bit ago, disconnected the battery and cleaned off whatever I could and reconnected everything. Check engine light is gone, but we'll see what happens when I start driving.

I'll report later what battery i'm using and how long I've had it... doesn't seem like its been that long, but I could be wrong. Gonna try some vaseline when I get home and have it cleaned up better.
