Default APR Racing Prius

Does anyone else have a feeling the 2URGSE will be hybridized soon?
APR front mounting a 2UR,and keeping it a hybrid makes me think it will. APR is getting factory support from Gazoo,so don't be surprised

SARD hybridized their Supras 3UZ GT500,and a not too long later Lexus drops the LS600hl.
Toyota has also recently hinted at all models becoming hybridized.

No, 2UR is at its death bed now. The track edition RCF that will be shown next week, is the swansong of the RCF and this engine. It is on its way out. Lexus wanted it to go out with a bang so they wanted to do something very special. It will be the one and only high-revving V8 Lexus ever builds.

It will be primarily turbo performance engines going forward like the Supra A90 and maybe, some hybrid engines here and there, but Lexus has not yet proven it can build a proper performance car with a hybrid. Europe is putting some serious restrictions on both noise and emissions, which is why it is not feasibly to make loud, brawny N/A screaming V8s.

Yeah, I had mentioned, Lexus wants RCF to go out with a bang, which is why they are going all-out with the track edition. I think the RCF track edition will be a hooligan's car. In Europe, it will most likely be very limited and probably most going to either in Japan or US.

Going forward though, Lexus will be taking a completely different direction with the F. Forced induction, small displacement primarily 6-pot engines for their F cars. The writing is on the wall as that is where the industry is headed.

Didn't Toyota finish 1st and 2nd with the hybrid at 24-hr Le Mans last year?

ohh what a hooligan it turned into lol whopping 5 extra ponies and some weight reduction. Im disappointed, just like with the supra they should have called it a celica maybe add awd to it an revive alltrac name that would fit the bill and not ruin what the supra legacy name was. Especially when im reading about 400hp 3.0 turbo v6 ford explorer just unacceptable from the top brass.

Done venting

Lol. They had zero competition, Toyota was the only LMP1 car on the track. Porsche and Audi didn't compete in 2018. Prior to this Toyota's best finish in any le mans was second.

2016 le mans was all for Toyota hybrid to win leading the Porsche hybrid and Audi's, only to completely lose the race in the final 3 minutes due to part failure. Was the most devastating thing to watch. Ironically the part that failed was a simple $10 connector for the turbo charger which was made in Germany. Smh.

Why in the world would the Japanese known for their reliability have an automotive part made in Germany?

In any event going back to the subject of hybrid technology, Toyota has the capability and know how to produce a high performance hybrid but affordability is the issue, think of the $845,000 Porsche 918 spyder. A halo car reaching this astronomical price (even at a fraction of this price) probably doesn't fit in with Toyota's current marketing strategy.

Never say never though, a green light form Toyoda-san and you will have a super car Toyota/Lexus hybrid prowling the roads in a heartbeat. The technology is there
