NOVEL Racing 3 Lexus Car Team at 24H Nürburgring including RC F GT3 for 2019
NOVEL Racing Japan will be competing at the 2019 24 Hour Nürburgring Race and have begun to make their formal announcements! We at Mod in Japan will be out there to support our partners for the race and give the community a behind the scenes look at the race and their involvement later this year in June 2019 so stay tuned for the coverage. Their driver rosters are still to be announced, but the cars to compete are listed below.
NOVEL Racing Lexus RC F GT3 - SP9 Class
NOVEL Racing Lexus RC F - SP8 Class
NOVEL Racing Lexus IS F - CCS-R SP8 Class
For 2018 they finished 2nd and 3rd place in the SP8 class with the RC F and IS F respectively. The exciting news for 2019 is that they have secured a Lexus RC F GT3 and will be competing in the SP9 class. Now the important thing to note is the comparison of the levels of competition and massive jump in team levels from SP8 and SP9 Class.
2018 SP8 Class Competitors
Porsche 991 GT3 Cup MR
Ford Mustang GT WR
Aston Martin Vantage V8
Aston Martin GT8
Audi R8 LMS
plus the NOVEL RC F and NOVEL IS F CCS-R
2018 SP9 Class Competitor Vehicles with 29 cars in class with the following models.
Porsche 911 GT3 R
Mercedes-AMG GT3
Audi R8 LMS
Audi R8 LMS GT3
Ferrari 488 GT3
BMW M6 GT3
Lamborghini Huracan GT3
This is a situation where the Lexus RC F GT3 and the NOVEL Racing Team will be facing very steep competition in SP9 with many of these cars and teams being factory backed or tire manufacturer backed such as Mercedes-AMG Team Black Falcon, Falken Tire Motorsports, Audi Sport Team Land Motorsports, Manthey Racing. The jump from SP8 to SP9 will be immense and it will be a difficult challenge, but its amazing to see a Lexus step up to the plate and rise to the challenge.
In addition NOVEL will be teaming up with Racing Project Bandoh. If you are not familiar with this team, if you are Lexus fan you have definitely seen their Super GT Cars before. They have been campaigning Toyota/Lexus Vehicles since the late 90's from GT300 to GT500 Class in Super GT with the most notable Lexus models being their WedsSport / Advan Lexus SC430 and most recently Lexus RC F.
It an absolutely insane race and we will update the community as new information develops, but imagine 150-200 cars of all different specs, classes, driver skill levels, and power ranges all driving on one track at the same time for 24 hours... Its going to be insane.
