Have programmed one, two or three buttons successfully holding the remote and every thing works fine...by the next day I am unable to use any buttons to open the door;
I do a reset (holding first and third) successfully and then re-program one or more buttons...again everything works FINE, no issues with any, however by the next day homelink (shows green) but can't open.
There are many on the Lexus and other car forums who appear to have experience this specific problem but no idea how they have resolved. I have used the same remote to program other cars in past years, no issues.
Have to rule out the following i.e. none of these conditions apply
- remote used to teach HOMELINK is defective. (programming successfully, also been used to program other cars)
- rolling code mode not applicable
- any action on the garage door unit (I live in a condominium)...all residents using the same unit
- inability or defect in programming/reset steps...I am able to repeat the programming and everything works
Returned to Lexus after several years owning an MB - appalled at the inconsistency of this...left out in the cold in a large city, no street parking...have also noticed there is a compass button on rear view mirror, that does nothing!

Last question regarding the mirror compass, do you have a 2011 or new Lexi with Navigation?
The reference in the Owner's Manual to the compass is for Non-Nav models, Nav screens have
the compass, not the mirror any more. The "compass" button is used to turn the auto-chromatic
dimming mirror on and off.

My Homelink seems to work randomly. I just don't really care that much, but I would say it works 50% of the time. It may work fine for a week and then does not work for a week.

I see a lot of replies saying that ir works intermittently...seem unacceptable to me but appears nothing can be done and Lexus cant be held responsible

I have a 4 year old opener and needed a "homelink repeater" to allow my older two cars to operate the liftmaster homelink system. I could not link my 2019 RC F directly to the liftmaster opener but once the RC F was programed to the repeater all was reliable. You may need a repeater. The repeater directions say... 2006 car and older, you need a repeater.... 2007 and newer, try to program the homelink once, it it fails, you need a repeater. My repeater is, Homelink repeater kit model G855LM.

Off Topic. Anyone with a LiftMaster or Chamberlain Garage Door Opener can easily download an App that contains a ton of useful info. Shows exactly how long each door has been opened or closed, and can do either from literally anywhere too! Sure it involves you opening your Cell Phone up, but its a very valuable tool, especially in those times when you question yourself about whether or not you closed your garage door when leaving the home! Synced both of our Lexus's up to it easily, but the 05" Ram wont sync. I'll use the Visor Clip Door Opener instead of buying the extra repeater just to have that work.
