Tow Hook License Plate Adapter?
#16
I don't want to drill holes in my front Bumper. I am required here in California to have a front plate. I like this set up because no damage to grill and I can remove plate in minutes.
On my Miata someone misdrilled the holes on the front bumper. Basically looks like they put it on crooked and then remounted it. If you take the front plate off there are five holes. 2 that are wrong and uneven. 2 That are right and then one random hole where someone totally misdrilled. This is what I want to avoid.

I have a 2016 and it has two holes from the factory to mount the OEM front plate holder. So, I am wondering why people don't just use the OEM mounting bracket as opposed to drilling holes. Drilling new holes makes no sense to me. Then again, using the tow hook to mount a front plate makes no sense to me either when the OEM plate holder attaches so easily.

Why? - Because having it mounted in the center takes away the wicked cool appearance of our Front Grille. There is no doubt in my military mind that if those of us who are "required" to display a front marker plate - we would roll with nothing at all. At least the Tow Hook mounts show a bit more of the grille. I had mine mounted in the stock center location at first and as soon as I moved it over, I started getting more compliments on how it looked. Out.....

I got one from Amazon (similar if not the same), says it fits the RCF, but doesn't fit my 2022. Shaft needs to be much longer, and there's an inner hole it has to pass through. It looks just like the photo with the post from the guy who bought the $400 titanium one.
After experiencing some scrapes with the Sto N Sho Front Marker Plate - I mounted this $23 item off Amazon.

Since yoos guys seem to be doing the same type of thing, I'm curious why there could be such a drastic price difference between these? I saw a ton of them from $80-$110, and this one is a mere $22.99. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you must remove that little "Hidden Door" thing on the front Grill? I even threw some Plumbers Tape on the threads. Sure wish the whole Grille was visible but unlike many of you, Virginia requires a Front Marker Plate.
