Gas pedal secondary switch

Can someone enlighten me on the purpose of the secondary switch on the gas pedal? I just noticed this the other day and was curious what it does when fully pressed. I don’t notice much difference. Thanks

I think it is for transmission kickdown in auto mode. If you hit the switch, it more aggressively downshifts to the lowest gear (emergency acceleration situations). I could be wrong, though since I never use auto mode. LOL

If you read through the thread, you can see how to modify the switch so it doesn't push back much at all. That said, I haven't noticed the switch on the GS F. It was very noticeable on the IS F before I modified it.
