Great thread with so much info. It's a bit sad how much the Michelin's are right now.

I am at 21K miles on the F and the tires still have a fair amount of tread left. More than I expected on the front and rear. The rear tires will feel a little "greasy" at times when getting on it. New tires will be required at close to 30K for sure.

Glad you find it useful. Do you know how much tread you have left? It is like 8/32nd or 6/32nd?

I would have to measure for real accuracy. I would say it is 8/32+ as a guess

That means they are almost new. You want to swap them before use them up?

How about I do an actual measurement and get back to you... And no. I am old enough that I used to use the penny test to decide if I needed new tires

Update:

Great comparison of PS4S vs Bridgestone Potenza RE71RS. More importantly, he talks about how the F80 M3 has loads of understeer on stock staggered setup (typical of staggered setup), but once he goes to square setup, he has a lot more front grip. Makes very good points about rolling resistance differences between the two tires and drag induced by extremely sticky tires.

^^^^They are a track tire and will wear much faster than the PS4S in daily driving. The PS4S is slowly being replaced by the PSS5 as more sizes become available.

​​​​@CodyJames Just like what @flowrider said, Cup 2 will give you unreal performance on your Porsche, but will wear out very fast. Also, they might be noisy on the streets and also will require a lot of care in the wet. PS4S that I ended up selecting, is an amazing tire. Absolutely love it. The OEM PSS tires my RCF came with, were junk tires. OK at a lot of stuff, but did nothing particularly great (having a load rating for the front tires that was even lower than what OEM Integra Type S comes with, did not help). Anyway, 5 years since the time I created this thread, I am very happy with my selection.

Thanks guys. That's super helpful. The only reason I'm asking - I love the PS4S - is because everywhere I've looked, the PS4S application for the rears for my 992 is on back order. I'm not going with anything but Michelin, so if I can't find them, I may have to "suffer" through a set of Cup 2s.
