The following comment was posted, seems like the article may have been misunderstood in translation.
"Not by offence but due to poor translation you haven't understand that TMC doesn't use Mazda platform and engines for its vehicles. MAZDA AND TOYOTA WILL CODEVELOP engine and platform for MarkX, IS, Mazda 9, RX9. Like Toyota doesn't rebadge Subaru EV but codevelop it. We have discussed this already in another thread. Should I send straight to admins these kind of articles translated properly? "
Beyond that, Toyo/Lexus is a business. They are the 2nd largest maker on the planet and they got there by making some boring bread and butter (super reliable)stuff. Now they want some more exciting vehicles - great, some more varied vehicles - great, and does not want to invest a ton to do it. Having other makers bring them some of their platforms and co-developing some parts is fine. As long as they don't become unreliable it will be all good. Mazda makes light weight, well handling cars without enough power (these are all my opinions here lol) so maybe toyota can get a lighter better handling car and spec adequate power during design. We have already seen great initial results with the Zupra, all we need to know now is if the thing is going to start puking electronics, subframes and engine hard parts like BMWs can sometimes do...

Would You Buy A Mazda Powered RCF?
I can’t help but pass along a story Japanese website Best Car posted a story about the second generation 2022 Lexus RCF being powered by a Mazda 6 cylinder engine. What is happening with Toyota? The new Supra powered by a BMW in line six cylinder engine. The in line six in my first Lexus, 2001 IS 300, is bullet proof! The last generation Supra had a turbocharged version of that engine. Keep Lexus vehicles powered by Toyota! If this rumor is true, first generation RCF’s will retain their value and possibly even more. The last generation Supra confirms that.

Well if the Mazda six cylinder is like a Nissan GTR 6 cylinder than I would buy one. The increase in horsepower and torque would be worth it and I would not care who made the engine.
Plus, if that is a picture of the car, I will pass also as I think it looks a little to LC500 for me.
The New Supra is getting great reviews, but I have found that after years of reading car Magazines anything BMW does is normally met with positive praise.
