Default Good price?

I am looking at a 2016 rcf, a little more than 9600 miles, one owner, clean car fax. Performance package, mark levinson sound, ultrasonic blue. They want about 53k for it. On the fence on whether I should bite the bullet or keep looking.

It all depends.......

1. "L Certified" from a Lexus dealership? If it is, then the Lexus "L Certified warranty" goes for a total of 6 years from the date of first use AND UNLIMITED MILEAGE.

2. Do you like the car? Color, options, and etc?

3. Pre-purchase inspection? I know it only has 9600 miles, but that's still a lot of miles of abuse if the original owner had not maintaining the car CORRECTLY. Or abused it constantly? For example: If the brake pads and tires are worn out (especially the rears), then it begs the question WHY? Constant burn outs or drifting and abuse? OR if you find BRAND new brake pads and tires (especially the rears), then ask WHY? AT 9600 miles, these should not need replacing. Yes, you will see some wear and tear. But not replacements. There are other clues a pro can find during the pre-purchase inspection.

4. What is YOUR TIME worth to you? Meaning if you have to spend X amount of time to "find the right car" and if it is far away, then subsequent transportation cost and time to your location?

5. The other usual stuff.....CarFax, AutoCheck, Check with a Lexus dealership to make sure if the original factory warranty is still INTACT (and NOT VOIDED bc of a salvage title, unapproved mods caused damage that are ALREADY documented on Lexus database), any evidence of MAJOR body or frame repair (a pro can tell even repaired by another "pro").

I really like the USB color. If my ultra White did not surface, I would have gotten the USB. When I was looking, I was going after either an ultra White, USB, or Candy Apple Red. At the time back in the end of October 2015, not too much discounts even in SoCal. I found a "L Certified" 2015 ultra White RCF with some 1800 miles and at a price I can live with (no performance, no TVD, no carbon wing. But has ML, TRIPLE LEDS, Luxury package, and etc ). I never looked back. It has some some 60K TROUBLE FREE MILES AND a complete Borla exhaust and a KN high flow air filter. I do my own oil changes every 5K miles (after the two free ones at Lexus dealership which both times they OVERFILLED!!)

Good luck.

You could find an RC-F for cheaper if price is your main goal. There are more 2015s than 2016s for sale, and in the Lexus world 20K miles isn't a big deal. A 2015 with the same options and 29K miles is going to be practically the same car as that 2016 with 9K miles that you're looking at for cheaper. But the 2016 will have some factory warranty left whereas the 2015 won't.

If it checks all of the boxes (options, color, condition) for YOU then I would suggest you get it as opposed to waiting for something else to pop up locally though. The price isn't bad for the year and mileage.

I agree w/ vbb above. Essentially no difference between 2015 and 2016 model. Save the money and go w/ 2015’s. When I was searching, i found 2015, full option, 4K miles (non-CPO) red, asking $49k and i thought that was too much. Passed on that one.

good luck w/ search
