Got it. I had the functioning of the sensor wire backwards. Thanks for clearing it up.

The conversation started with "inexpensive and cheap" parts. To be clear, I have no issue with aftermarket parts.
I've used them many times over the years with varying degrees of success.

However, I don't believe in buying something just because it's cheap. For cars or anything else for that matter.
The cheap thing usually causes a headache greater than the money it saves.
Save a few bucks then spend hours of your time and energy trying to correct it.

I'm not hating, just being real. How much is your time worth?

So this maybe a stupid question but if I buy brake pads that don’t have the notch to accommodate the brake sensor, can I just not use the brake sensor? Would that trigger a warning light though?

If there's no warning light on, it won't come on if you don't install the sensors. I built a couple of modified units so I can put them on when I get close to the wear sensors dying I can put them in for a while if I am waiting for parts or just want to run until the pads and rotors need to be changed. If you're changing both, it doesn't matter how worn they get, they're both going in the trash.

That’s awesome. So no need to concentrate on getting pads that can accept the sensors. I’ll just take them off before they wear down to the 2mm. Thanks again Lobux!

The factory service manual says 1mm is minimum pad thickness. The sensors turn the light on at 2mm. Way too soon IMHO.
