Default RC F - Exhaust Recommendation for the Crackle & Pops

Alright all, looking for any recommendation as far as exhausts that will give me the beautiful crackle and pops from the exhaust! What do I need to do and where should I go?

Thank you all!

Hey,

We can help you with exhausts. None of the RCF exhausts will crackle/ pop like a BMW with a burble tune.

But something like a GTHAUS setup or Armytrix exhaust is probably the closest thing.

Feel free to text me at 213 394 2886.

Pretty sure pops and bangs are part of a tune, not so much the exhaust. That said, my Invidia has a nice bark to it on hard throttle up shifts. Haven't heard enough others to know if it's exhaust specific or just an RCF thing.

Here's a few videos I've taken:

Either or can be the source of pops and bangs. A free flowing exhaust (not sure the actual dynamic) can cause it naturally on some platforms. An axleback on my G37 alone helped with it.

Tune can change timing a bit to change sound characteristics without an exhaust. Both are variable on the platform.

As I understand it, the crackle and pops is not exhaust generated. The ECU introduces a little extra gas as the car backs down causing the sound. This was the case in my 911 anyway.

Like SC430 states, only a ECU tune can produce the timing/fuel overlap you desire. Same was true on my ‘09 Z06.

My Borla sounds like it crackles and pops when I take my foot off the gas. It doesn't sound like a bimmer with a tune though.

Get your exhaust from mod of Japan. Had bought my exhaust from Josh with a problem and nothing was done about it.

As Josh stated, I've had an Armytrix on .y 2017 for 3 years now and often get that sound you seek around 3rd gear deceleration. The Valvetronic option is why I got the system so you can tone loudness down when needed. Josh definitely knows his RC-F Gear too!

You can get some crackle and pops by doing headers and removing your cats which create a more free flowing exhaust.

If you want to take it to the extreme and sound like a BMW your going to need a special tune to do it. There is a tuner in Toronto called M Force you can find them on Instagram and they specialize in it. But I do not recommend a popcorn tune as it has become to be known. You do risk damaging your engine.

Default Lexus vs BMW

Why would any RCF owner want to sound like a BMW? Defeats who point of owning a NA Engine. No?

I have no idea why people want that sound. It is VERY popular around here though. The car literally sounds broken in my opinion. But to each their own I guess.
