Welp, HPFP Campaign and oil/filter change completed. Service Tech even talked me out of an Extended Warranty. Peace of mind through and through!

Nice. I bought mine in a private sale with standard warranty. Had it now for 3.5 years and the bumper-to-bumper is almost out with only powertrain less. Don't feel worried at all since it has been the most flawless 3.5 years with the car(granted I only put 11.000 miles total on it). The quality is off the charts on this thing.

In the USA you can add on the Extended warranty just before the factory warranty expires..

I did this with no regrets as I planned to keep the car for a long time... It paid for itself a few years later when I had my Gauge Cluster replaced as the needle LEDs died out and also covered my leaking OEM manifolds..

Luckily it even covered the unexpected event of the leaking valley plate on my IS F.

Its a good investment if your ownership timeline surpasses the factory bumper to bumper warranty.

Thanks Joe. Agreed. Definitely, it is a good investment, no doubt. I might look into that when I go to the dealership next.

Different strokes. I have never bought an extended warranty, and I have been buying new cars since 1962. The only time one would have come in handy was with a 1970 Mustang Boss 302. At the time that car was not eligible for a warranty extension from Ford. In the year I owned it, I blew a lifter and a number of other engine related mishaps. I traded it in month 12 at the end of the factory warranty period. I prefer to self insure. Over the years it has saved me a lot of $.

How much does the extended warranty typically cost?

I'm sure it will vary pending when/where you get it from before your OEM warranty expires. Anything with $0 deductible, my guess would be in $2000-$3000 for additional 2-3 years? that's just a guess.

Personally extended warranty is for a piece of mind. You may never need it but knowing that you can get it covered if/when something happens is worth to some ppl. Others want to take a chance at it and take the saving front-end and possibly have to spend it later (or nothing at all). I bought a high performance lexus for a reason. Reliability being a big factor so didn't consider much on the extended warranty. Hope i don't regret it later. Plus i don't plan to drive much (5k-6k miles/year) so extended warranty that caps you at certain # of years was not attractive to me.
