Default Bought 2020 RCF Track Edition

I recently purchased a new 2020 RCF Track Edition and absolutely love the car! It's noticeably quicker and much more "edgy" to drive than my 2019 GSF and 2021 LC 500 Inspiration convertible. With the traction control off this car will absolutely smoke the tires from a 30 mph roll. The brakes are very impressive! It gets a lot of looks and thumbs up from people on the street and when I have it parked in public sometimes people will come up to me and ask what it is. I haven't yet seen another anywhere out and about in Los Angeles, where I live so you get the feeling that you are driving something very unique.

Congrats on the car!
Did you buy it locally in LA?

I have a TE and love it. I think there are two other members on here that have them as well.

Very unique and rare car and people are always asking about it and most think I modified or built the car myself. Hahhhg

My only complaint would be I want a little more exhaust sound or a valved exhaust from factory.

I just did my first oil change today and went with a Wix Xp oil filter and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum oil.

Thank you 05RollaXRS and rp2000r.

I bought the car from Jim Falk Lexus in Beverly Hills and was happy to get a $6K rebate from Lexus applied to the purchase. I do agree on the car needing a more aggressive exhaust note and since Lexus made a special titanium exhaust system for the car to save weight it would have been nice if they could have tuned the car accordingly for our auditory senses. Both my GSF and LC500 convertible are better in that department. One competitive edge that Lexus has it its ability to appeal to all our senses so on this car they kinda missed the boat on sound to some degree. That being said I the car is an absolute blast to drive. And a couple of people have told me it looks so darned good that it reminds them of a Christmas ornament! Strange analogy but 2 different people used that term to describe how the car looks! LOL.

Which color combo do you have rp2000r? Nice to meet a fellow TE owner. Where did you get your car from? For how long have you had your car and at what mileage did you do your first oil change?

I started my hunt last May 2019 and had deposits @ Stevens Creek, Longo and Newport. My local dealers in Wa weren’t going to be able to get cars allocated and told me who was getting cars. Once cars were on the way Ca dealers changed their tone from MSRP to markups of 25k or as high as 50k. Crazyyyyy!
I reached out to my local dealer again and there GSM was great to work with, ended up getting me a white TE with a $2500 rebate and took delivery July 16, 2020. I immediately had the the front end, lights, fenders, complete hood, rear hips/side skirts and rear wheel arches covered in Stek clear film. Front bumper lights tinted and windows done with Ceramic tint. Car has 4430 miles as of today and I decided to to change oil and filter since I was bored. Hahaha.

I was planning on 5k but that would possibly having me doing it in cold weather up here in Seattle.

rp2000r: That's awesome! Which part of WA are you in? I did my BS at the Univ Washington in Seattle. I got my TE from the dealer in Beverly Hills for MRSP. Bu they made $ on my trade in which was a 2020 RX 450H F Sport. I decided I really wanted the RCF TE, especially in white with the red interior. I already had a 2019 GSF (in blue Mica) and a 2018 LC 500 (Nightfall mica with caramel interior) and decided I couldn't justify keeping the RX450H if I wanted the RCF TE. I later replaced the RX450H with a 2006 RX400H as that was a more economical way of having an SUV AND allowing me to then get the RCF TE. I have an Expel clear covering that covers the front and full hood and mirror plus the door edge guards. Other than that it is stock and has 800 miles on it. I then traded in my 2018 LC 500 coupe for a 2021 LC 500 Inspiration series but had to pay $35K over MSRP for that. And it took some negotiation to even be able to get it for that price. Here is Socal the dealers seem to want between $50K and $100K for an inspiration series LC 500 convertible and from $20K to $80K for standard LC 500 convertibles! Nice that you changed your oil yourself. I had a 2016 RC 350 that I bought from a smaller used car lot and took it to Keyes Lexus in Van Nuys, CA for an oil change ad to get a second key right after I bought it and they put the wrong oil filter on it! I didn't even notice until I took it for a tire rotation to a local shop and they had it up on the hoist. So sometimes you are better off doing stuff like that yourself if you are able to.

That is awesome. Finding it below MSRP is a very good deal as like you said, most of the dealerships were marking them up. I think over the long term, the TE will go up in value. Looks awesome. Like you, I also have a RX400h that does the major bulk of driving duties with my old modified Corolla XRS as my work car (but, since I work from home due to COVID-19, I don't drive it at all). RCF is my occasional fun car.

Agreed on the exhaust. I had the same experience with my carbon/TVD RCF. Was the only disappointment in the car (other than the MPSS tires it came with). It is easily fixed with aftermarket exhaust. It was my first mod on the car and it made the car 10x more fun with full aftermarket exhaust.

Compared to the 90k msrp performance pack RC, the track pack is a bit of a deal (if that's possible) with the extra bits and carbon ceramics. Finally puts the weight at a reasonable level for a performance car. Not one for subtlety but I like it. Hell even my regular '20 rcf when I got it clearbra'd the worker said some random dude started taking photos of it in their parking lot.
