Happened to me today on my 2014 IS350
Replaced the door actuator myself about a year ago. Car battery went completely dead today, and to my surprise the mechanical key was not working. Unfortunately for me no matter how many times i tried it was not opening so I had to call a locksmith.
does anyone have a diagram or video showing the part of the mechanical key hole mechanism that connects to the actuator?

I recommend if you don't drive the vehicle often or tend to take short trips, put the battery on a trickle charger. Also, I always use the Odyssey AGM batteries. Law enforcement/EMT use them. When I lived in AZ, most conventional batteries would last 1-1.5 years due to the extreme heat (we're talking 115F outside and more like 120-130F in your garage after you park a car w/ a hot engine in it and shut the door). I installed an Odyssey w/ full metal jacket inside my LX470 when I bought it...it lasted the full 4 years I lived in AZ, plus 2 more years in New Mexico where it was subject to near 0F temps during the winter. I also replaced the stock battery in my LS with an Odyssey...have never had any issues. They are pricey, though.
