Default Use RCF journey comes to an end...

Hi all, for those of you that helped me, answered questions etc. I've pulled the trigger. Got a CPO with about 70,000 miles for 36,000. Looked at quite a few, even some with 40,000 and TVD, but they were abused in a way, people used the area in front of the nav screen for storage maybe or tried to touch it because those lower mile ones had scratches all over the black borders and then some had cracks in the armrests in addition to many dings on the paint, curb rash, dings in the carbon fiber roofs, scratches on the center console etc. The one I am getting was reconditioned better and was very well taken care of, even the exterior has almost no blemishes. You guys already know condition trumps mileage, within reason on most used cars especially Lexus. I'm going to daily drive it a lot, so I might add to that "highest miles driven" thread someday. Here are some photos...

Congrats. Love the color combo but i'm biased.... didn't know lexus CPO cars with more than 50k miles. that's cool that you get extra 2 years coverage. enjoy!

Yes, believe it or not I asked about that, the dealer was quite busy this time of year so I asked about various things while I waited for the process, I think they can do up to 100k miles, but, get this, this particular one, this was the second time it was a CPO, it's basically been under warranty forever. I thought that this could go two ways, obviously it had to be in good condition for a 2nd CPO, and it was, but on the other hand I looked at a car at a non lexus dealer that had just come off of CPO status and was traded in and that car was beat up to hell, like cracks on the armrests, scratches all over the black center console area and many chips out of the carbon fiber roof. I think more people that get a CPO tend to lean toward the cautious take care of it type, but some must also think, " I have a warranty, I'm gonna beat this car up". BTW, I drive above 15,000 miles per year so the no mileage limit on the warranty is nice.

Would love to, but I'm a Dallas area and Memphis area person, thanks for the note!

Thanks, I'm also glad I chose one that was nicely taken care of and didn't go for the lower mileage "slightly" abused ones. I can't imagine having a great car like one of these and treating it like a normal car, but 2nd owners etc., just boggles my mind that a few I saw were beaten up with only 40k miles.

I'm loving it so far, love the radar cruise, much better than an old SL500 radar cruise I had. Funny thing in Texas, it s snowed for 1 night, second night of ownership while I was visiting family....

Wow! Snow in Texas. Never heard that before. I think I might have heard it snows a bit in Dallas?
