I was at Niello BMW in Sacramento the other day and they had a new M4 there and I really like the styling and the grill. I thought the car looked very sharp in person.

I've yet to see one in person, perhaps I'll feel the same.

This is a very spirited discussion. And as the comments would indicate, it’s also very subjective

When it comes to projecting a certain image, class or prestige through the vehicle you drive, it’s a hit or miss proposition (in my eyes at least). I believe almost anyone can climb behind the wheel of an expensive automobile, pop on some Dolce & Gabbana shades and project “prestige.” But what’s far more valuable and seemingly out of reach for most people is something you cannot buy. And that is “class.” Growing up I’ve always been impressed by smart practical people who may indeed have nice portfolios and high incomes while also having a stoicism that manifests itself in the form of….say a Volvo V90 ;-)

When I see someone driving one of these I instantly apply all of my (positive) preconceived assumptions of what type of lifestyle that person may live. So for me, “prestige” is overrated. I’d prefer “class” over the pretentiousness found in a Land Rover.
