Default 2020 Lexus RC F Performance Upgrades

Hey all,

New Lexus RC F owner here! I bought a 2020 and Ive noticed that the amount of performance upgrades on the 2020 are lacking. The performance chips seem too good to be true and Im not sure they even make a supercharger for this year yet. Im not even sure if you can put cam and headers on. Im curious on your thoughts on what I can upgrade, I already have a takeda exhaust system and takeda stage 2 pro 5R air intake which makes this bad b**** growl something fierce.

Im located near Houston so any recommendations on a reputable shop to get labor done would be appreciated to.

I dont really have a budget, I just want to make people regret lining up with me (not on public roads of course ) and obviously the best bang for my buck is appreciated as well. Cheapest with best results first please! Happy to be a part of Club Lexus!

-Reaper

Headers and full exhaust are the two next major things for you. The full exhaust should give around +18 whp like Invidia full exhaust and PPE equal length headers (+25 to +30 whp) so with just these two mods you can get an additional +43 whp.

Hey Josh I appreciate the response, I will reach out when ready.

Rolla, question, if I already have the takeda exhaust, could I buy a separate part to complete the "full" exhaust system?

I think you mean Takeda cold air intake system. I have it too. The full exhaust system is completely separate. In my case, I have an Invidia full exhaust so yes, both of them are separate.

Yeah, never seen that before. It is an axle back so it is only good for a bit more noise, but minimal increase as far as power goes. A full exhaust would give a bigger diameter mid-pipe and a more free-flowing resonator etc. A full exhaust also gives a more richer sound. If you want to keep your axle back then you can look into getting a mid-pipe either custom or another one that can fit with your axle back.

The exhaust you posted is for an RC350, NOT an RCF,

AFAIK, Takeda doe not make an RCF exhaust.

That is a good point. RCF piping diameter is different from the RC350. Usually 2.5+ inches. My Invidia is 2.75 inches so that Takeda exhaust for RC350 does not offer the proper flow rate appropriate for the 2UR.

I have the same 2020 RC F. Here are my upgrades:
  • JoeZ full catback exhaust
  • PPE UE headers
  • AEM Cold air intake
  • RR racing USRS LCA bushings
  • Powestop Z26 brake pads all around
  • Sprintbooster V3 throttle controller
Soon to be installed:
NGK Ruthenium HX 93420 spark plugs
PPE O2 sensors for CEL error

Future mods:
Airlift 3P w/ D2 racing air struts
Elvin carbon fiber wheel
SSR or Rotiform wheels, still deciding

I just snagged the first one that looked like it, my apologies. I may need to get it on a lift and see what exactly was installed. I know its a takeda with blue tips for sure.

There is no Takeda exhaust ever built for the RCF. For your question regarding quest for more power, only option would be to get rid of it and get a proper full cat back exhaust for the RCF.

Full exhaust + intake + PPE EL headers usually is around 440 whp for the RCF on the average with 390 - 400 whp bone stock depending on the dyno and conditions etc. Roughly, an increase of around 45 whp. That makes it around 525 - 530 HP at the crank. The RR racing ECU tune is only available for the 2015 - 2016 RCF, but that gives an additional +7 whp and about +18 ft-lbs of wheel torque.
