Update: It sold before I got my butt in gear. Crisis averted.

That is what Clarkson was doing. 'Expert' mode and trying to drift while the VDIM was cutting power to the rear causing the nose to not respond. 'Expert' mode is not meant for drifting and only full TC off allows that.

I was saying it because I get short power slides out quite easily in SPORT+/MANUAL mode, TC on with TVD in slalom like stated above in low gear/high rpms through the turn. Just slip and not full on drift where I agree TC will cut power. I had a few scary moments where exiting the turn trying to get out as fast as possible resulted in the tail stepping out. The VDIM allows quite a lot of slip in SPORT+ mode. Also, slalom mode can be the other factor. Not sure if my alignment has something to do with it, but it was checked by Lexus last spring. The only change is, I have different tires with a more aggressive profile with 39 psi rear and 37 psi front.
