Default Barry testing modes on RCF TVD

Good video for people wanting to know more about TVD. I agree the slalom mode is the most fun. Don't agree with the one-hand driving though.

If the TVD was so effective, why was it removed from the track/fuji edition when weight saving was marginal at best.?

They are not minimal savings.. When Lexus was removing things like heated seats, heated steering to save weight, the TVD weight delta with LSD is significantly bigger than that. Regarding effectiveness, TVD is very effective as proven in tests.

Thanks for the video. Slalom seems to be a way to lose some control of the rear end...if that's what you want to feel. So, if you wanted to drift, would you put it in slalom or trac off/vsc off? Just curious, not likely to be drifting anytime soon.

Slalom mode actually makes the nose react faster initially on-center (which is why it is called slalom mode because you are trying to get the nose to react faster), which actually unloads the rear much more easily and the rear would slide out much more easily. However, as you go faster, the nose in slalom starts to become a bit "darty", which is where track mode is better for high speeds stability. Traction control will have to be turned off (using the pedal dance) and if one is on a track trying to drift at higher speeds, track mode probably would be better. I have never drifted so I am trying to make an educated guess based on my experience in slalom and track mode.
