Pretty unimpressed with the blue matte to be honest. USB has been my favorite color of any car because of the depth. I think I recall reading when the RCF launched that it was something like a 5 coat process, and you can really see it when you look at the paint up close. As soon as you matte wrap it, or just try to do that blue in a matte paint, you loose 100% of the depth of the colors, you loose the metallic flake accents, the base layer with the clear coat. I love matte finish on some colors (white, black, grey) but to take what could have been USB (the best blue I've ever seen on a vehicle).

The matte blue looks great, so tired of boring white and gray cars. Normally not a big fan of alcantara steering wheels, but this one looks good.

You'd have to be a collector or a track only driver since the number of buyers who would want something that ugly on the rear of the car are few. Of course, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" ... From the "ten ugliest cars to ..."

Someone will buy even this.

The Lexus designers should have made the lines flow better with the car as a whole. I understand that it is functional but maybe there's a better design language then bolting it on.

 

Agreed. I was surprised to see a Hyundai Veloster type N in the parking lot of the local grocery. Not content with the wing by itself and muscular stance, Owner had written "Send Nudes" along the back edge in big block letters.
