I know this has been discussed elsewhere, but I'm curious to see what the F community thinks about the 3G sunset. I for one am annoyed that my low mileage RC F I purchased new just 5 years ago will lose such features as remote start. While planned obsolescence exists in many places, I'm utterly surprised Lexus has done nothing to make this right. Some other manufacturers like Acura are retrofitting their cars with 4G antennas, yet there has been no talk of Lexus doing the same. Weirdly, Lexus continues to peddle the subscription for affected cars until this day.

Would such a decision impact your decision to buy another Lexus or F model? I think for me the answer is yes.

There are a few aftermarket solutions that can enable remote start, search the forums.

Don't care... I'm from the land of growing up with 3 speed stick on the column, am radio, no air-conditioning, wind-up windows, etc. So, a lexus has enough frills for me without remote start. Even having a remote to unlock the doors is a whole lot better than turning a key into the door!

Don't care, their subscription service just for the remote start is stupid in the first place. If you must absolutely have remote start get an aftermarket solution.

I'm slightly annoyed because of the loss of location services and notifications if door are left unlocked (and able to lock from the app). But at the same time, I wouldn't spend the $1,000 to install the new transceiver even if Lexus came out and said it could be sync'd to our cars.

yeah for me it's annoying, i like to remote start it to warm it up before i head out.

I don't care much about losing the remote start feature, I never used it. Now, being able to check the car's status remotely through the app, that I'll miss.

As long as there are 8 cylinders firing and it gives the middle finger to passing Priuses when you step on it…I’m good. Everything else is frosting. 🤣

Me either, I hardly use the features that comes with it.. I don’t even use the nav, once in a while Bluetooth phone calls…that’s about it…🤪
