Default Lexus RCF Track Edition Nürburgring Grand Prix hotlaps

Great driver, but he is most likely on Cup 2 R slick racing tires, which is why he is carrying so much insane speed into and through the turns without any tire squeal.

Thanks. Did not catch that. They are not quite rated as slick racing R-compound tires, but looking at the tread pattern in pictures, they look very close to racing slick tires

Yeah they belong in that 200 treadwear group like the Nittio NT05s. Great tires is you track and plan to only drive a few hundred miles a year. I had NT05s in my G37S (weekend car) and they were toast after 18 months. No track days. Horrible in the cold and wet but best dry performance tire I’ve owned.

Good info. On a side note, I think Barry crashed his RCF into a wall at the Nürburgring (from what I could pick up in the video). It does not come as a surprise since I had noticed a while back he was running almost bald tires and in his videos, I could see he had almost no grip. I actually told him to replace his tires with some good tires especially since he was going on the track. Looks like he did not and what seems like, he crashed it.

They're known as a 'cheater' tire, since they are labelled as a 200 TW tire but actually wear a lot faster than some 100 TW tires. That's why almost everyone in lower class endurance races uses the A052.

That's interesting. I guess, the grip levels are insane, but on the downside they wear out really quickly.

They also have relative soft walls resulting in heavy wear on the outer shoulder. To avoid that excessive wear on the outside one has to go aggressive on camber adjustment and often combine with higher tire pressure.
