Default New to me RC-F

Hey, just recently got out of a 2014 z51 vette that was kicking my *** 40 miles a day, into a 2017 RC F. Had 48000 miles on it and needed a little paint love, but maintaince was all up to date and I was able to do a 6 year warranty on it. Did a full 2 step paint correction, and had a tiny wear mark in the drivers seat dyed/touched up, and tinted the windows. Has some paint chips up front but honestly I drive 40 miles a day, mostly highway so not too worried about it. Honestly the only car I would buy with this kind of mileage on it, as my vette had a whopping 16k mile on it. Fun car, but the Lexus build quality and ride are on another level.

After 2 step paint correction

For sure. I had to give my daily to my son as he is turning 16 soon, and using a c7 vette as a daily was….. painful.

Yeah, I looked closely and ended up spotting the moonroof. LOL

You have AVS so it is softened up in ECO/NORMAL/SPORT mode and stiffens up in SPORT+, I believe. Even in SPORT+, it still dynamically adjusts for smoothness over rough pavement.

yes sir, you can feel a pretty significant difference in sport plus. That’s what I like, the 5 percent of the week I am playing around, I have the button. The other 95 percent, normal or eco and it’s like driving a mattress.

Yeah, MANUAL/SPORT+ mode is where it shows the jekyll/hyde personality. Good thing you picked the 2017 as it was the first year of AVS for RCF. I have the pre-2017 RCF with the fixed non-AVS suspension and I don't mind the very stiff 100% of the time *(especially with the aggressive tires I have) ride as it is only my occasional/fun car, but 2017 was the first year where Lexus put a 32-way adjustable dampers in the RCF.

I find Eco to be a little dangerous honestly. If I need to get out of someone's way quickly, ECO has it's own ideas about how far down you have to mash your foot. Minimum I drive with is Sport.

Congratulations. It is a super fun car that does a lot of things very well. I also use mine as my daily right now until I get another truck.

Enjoy it. It is more fun than my Datsun 2000 5 speed roadster back in the day. The V8 5 liter has an amazing transmission so I drive in Sport for fun but drive around town in Custom where I have the suspension in sport but drive train in eco. Keeps me from jack rabbitting. When in Sport, it shifts about the same as I recall me doing manually on the Datsun.

My old Datsun from Hawaii and transplanted to CA.

Yeah I always turn mine to Sport after the car warms up. Eco takes forever to downshift, and normal is a bit too mild for me as well. The suspension doesn't firm up until Sport+, so you still get a soft ride during your daily drive in Sport.
